a flat just round the corner from where i am now, identical to the one i have went from 277pw to 200pw over 2 months (void for one of those). i used that to negotiate renewal on my current place although mine started at 230pw.

average is about 10% down im led to believe, but if a place was massivly overpriced before you can easily get 20% off once they go void

That bathroom is how I imagine the world is viewed through the psychotic eyes of someone like Bruno

Completely white with a sinister red line THROUGH EVERYTHING

Apparently, this one has the "wow" factor. I would debate that.

This is a property overlooking the local Morrisons, and next to the red light district.

Cheap booze and cheap birds! - I'm surprised it's still on the market. :P

Are they advertising it as close to all local amenities then? ;-)

And this one is above The Escape Bar. What they fail to mention is it has a 1.00am licence Friday/Saturday with a DJ set. Sweet dreams.

I moved to a new place 8 weeks ago

Was originally up for £995 PCM

Then £895 PCM

I got it for £825 PCM

The owners brought the house for £150k in 2001 so if

on 100% mortgage my rent would just cover it

I would happily pay 150k for this house

The house next door nearly identical but with a bigger garden

is up for 320k!!!!

No chance! Why buy a house for more than double

the cost I can rent it for

The people next door did ask me if I was interested in buying it

I told him it was a little expensive for me

He said I know it's a bit cheeky but it sold in 2 weeks

Ah but it still says for sale I said

I know he said the sale fell through his buyers pulled out

but they would have paid 320 for it

It's still on the market

They have already paid for survey etc. on the one they

are supposed to be moving to before last sale collasped.

OH DEAR!

Started blaming the EA for not doing enough ,not the fact

his is house is 100k overpriced!!!!

Landlords coming back down to earth. Good old property bee.

And how long can they sustain this? - a few months before realising their 'left holding the baby' and the Golden Goose has stopped laying.

Smart landlords dumped their properties ages ago - and will pick up some bargains again no doubt when the glut of the 'wannabee' property millionaires want to exit or are forced out of the market along with it increasing the number of properties becoming generally more available for true home buyers.

this is the:

'i cant sell for an insidious profit - ill rent it out until it recovers back to unsustainable in 12 months' factor.

wont work. all it does is make their homes value less and less.

these kinds of people are the best of the idiots.

and cheaper rents is just a bonus of their own depseration and greed.

I move house tomorrow.

I haven't got a reduction; but I am moving from a 5 bed detached with standard garden, to a huge 6 bed detached with a pool and 3 to 4 acres, for peanuts more. The lounge on the new property is almost the same size as the entire downstairs living space of the current one.

There is a glut of property out there, it is a renter's market.

Having decided that I'm going to put my house-buying plans on hold (yet again!), I've started looking at rentals. I could just renew the lease on my flat, but I'd like more space and a garden.

I was encouraged by the flat next door coming on the market in April, and standing empty for a couple of months before being re-let. In that time, they dropped the price by 50 quid, from a starting value that was already below what I'm paying, so I thought I'd have a good chance of picking something up reasonable cheaply.

I'd found three nice looking places that I was going to take a look at this weekend. All have come on the market in the last couple of weeks, so I thought that I could take a look, maybe make a low offer and we could work up from there. However, all three are now let! I've just called up about one of them, and the agent said they've already had two offers at the full asking rent!

Feeling bloody gloomy about renting now, as well as buying!
