Conservatives Join Up With An Extreme Right Wing Party

Recommended Posts

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8112581.stm

Senior Tory William Hague has said the Conservatives' new "anti federalist" bloc in the European Parliament will be "good for European democracy".
The Conservatives will be the biggest party in the new group with 26 MEPs, including Northern Ireland's Jim Nicholson of United Conservatives and Unionists - New Force.

Others who have signed up include 15 MEPs from the Poland's Law and Justice Party (PiS), nine from the Czech Civic Democratic Party (ODS), and one each from the Dutch ChristenUnie, Latvian National Independence Movement (TB/LNNK), Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) and Belgian Lijst Dedecker (LDD).

The TB/LNNK are an extreme nationalist group. They want to promote and preserve the Latvian culture, want to restrict who is given Latvian citizenship, want to ensure Latvian cultures and way of life are protected and want to make it more difficult for non-Latvians to live in Latvia.

On 21 Sep 2005 Jarosław Kaczyński, the PiS party leader, said that homosexuals should not be teachers, but that homosexuals would not be persecuted.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_and_Justice#cite_note-0 He has also stated, "The affirmation of homosexuality will lead to the downfall of civilization. We can't agree to it"

So on the one hand we have the Cons telling us the BNP are despicable and we should vote for anyone but them, and yet they are quite happy to work alongside groups with extremist agendas when it suits them. Then again I suppose 'politician found to be a hypocrite' would hardly be news to anyone anymore.

Apparently, the Latvian National Independence Movement is very worried about infiltration and dilution of their culture by Lithuanians and Estonians...

Reminds me of the People's Front of Judea...

Ethnic Russians make up almost a half of the population of Riga, the capital of Latvia. In the second largest city Daugavpils, which already had a sizable Russian minority before the war, Russians now make up the majority. Today about 29% of Latvia's population are ethnic Russians. Basically, thanks to Soviet policy, the Latvians are almost a minority in their own country. Given such a situation it is hardly surprising that a political party that promotes Latvian nationalism has achieved considerable popular support. A similar situation exists in other Baltic states. To simply equate Latvian nationalists to the BNP is foolish.

Why exactly is it that Left Wing Loonies always want to export their vision of cultural Nirvana to every other country in the World?

As always, they ignore history and the cultural developments which have fomented beneath the surface for many, many

years.

Americans such as Bush invariably deny history and ethnicity and decide, unilaterally, to Americanize other states: Iraq and Afghanistan being prime examples.

Just because Americans love eating over-sugared slop and multi-processed greaseburgers where the meat is chock full of growth hormones, doesn'te mean everyone else is slavering at the bit to have Micky D's and Coke machines.

Anymore than it means that American's vision of "Democracy" (You know, the one where the guy who spends the most buys the Presidency: and once safely ensconced in the White House, pays off his corporate supporters by bending laws to suit them), is suitable or indeed wanted elsewhere.

Like all of the Slav and Baltic states, they have suffered continually since the late 1800s: and particularly so since the days of Soviet Russia.

Now, they simply want their country back and for them; not hosts of incomers who don't share their culture, have no regard for it and like Whingeing Poms, want the country to conform to the outsiders ideas and desires.

We have the excellent example of Britain as a damned good illustration of what happens when a country allows itself its government and bureacracy to be over-run and dominated by idiot Left Wing Ivory Tower Dwellers, intent on the realisation of their fantasies of Utopia!

Just this week, Nicolas Sarkozy developoed some brass ones for a change: and has opened the debate on banning the Burqua in France (Veils are already banned in schools, as are any other religious eccentricity): as le petit Nicolas pointed out, wearing the Burqua has no religious symbolism whatsoever: it is, rather, a mark of the repression of women and has no place in a modern secular state.

Can you imagine the furore if say, Call Me Dave stood up in the Commons and tried to promote debate on this issue?

That's wholly illustrative of how much Britain has lost the plot!

Yup. Nothing new there.

The Saudi royals probably have a lot in common with the BNP, and we embrace them. Money talks.

Eduards Berklavs (June 15, 1914 - November 25, 2004) was a Latvian politician.

Berklavs was born in the Kuldīga District. During his youth, he was active in labour and communist organizations. In 1930s, he was arrested and served a prison sentence for his communist activities. After Latvia being occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940, he being a Komsomol and Communist Party official, rising to the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Latvian SSR in 1950s. In this position, he opposed the Soviet policies of Russification, supported a larger role for Latvian language and proposed to limit immigration from other parts of Soviet Union to Latvia. This led to him being labelled as Latvian nationalist and deposed from his position in 1959.

In late 1980s, Berklavs became a Latvian independence activist. He was one of founders and the first chairman of Latvian National Independence Movement (LNNK), a pro-independence political organization

Einars Repše (born December 9, 1961 in Jelgava, Latvian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Latvian politician.

Einars Repše graduated from Latvia State University (now known as University of Latvia) in 1986 with a degree in physics (specialisation - radio electronics). He first entered politics in 1988 as one of the founders of the Latvian National Independence Movement (LNNK), a political organization promoting Latvia's independence from the Soviet Union. He was elected to the parliament of Latvia in 1990.

From 1991 to 2001, Repše was the president of the Bank of Latvia (Latvia's central bank). During this period, he oversaw the introduction of the Latvian rublis, Latvia's temporary transition currency, and the Lats, independent Latvia's new currency. Under Repše, the Bank of Latvia pursued a tight monetary policy, implementing a de-facto currency board for the Lats. As a result, the exchange rate of the lat has been stable since the early 1990s till now. The success of the Lats made Repše very popular in Latvia.

The Polish Law and Justice Party are a loathsome bunch of anti-German, gay hating thugs.

.. and yet they are a party the Conservatives can chummy up to for the sake of political expediency.

So 'racists' and 'homophobes' are bad (if they are British) but 'racists' and 'homophobes' are good if they are not British.

I get the picture.
