juvenal
10.45 Clarke clearly discomfited by Dimbo opening on Clarke's own expenses. All of a sudden the genial Ken looked upset, and flushed more than usual. I may even have heard a small, nervous fart...

SNACR
It is staggeringly really. I certainly couldn't be arsed to claim the vat back on a 25p box of staples.

Probably one of those office supplies catalogues that has plenty of stuff you could order, submit the invoice as office expenses, and take the stuff home. f00
only caught a quick glimpse but will be watching the news advidly tomorrow for Clarke's resignation for late payment of bills. (not) where was the labour MP ? perhaps they couldn't find one without any expense claim irregularities
@contradevian
They have decided to hijack Ken Clarke over Euro alliances and completely ignored the question on Romanians being attacked in NI! Typical Beeb / Dimbleby tactic. Also another Labour heartland. Edited June 18, 2009 by HostPaul TAFKA Rover2000
juvenal
Ken's rattled. Rantzen's a populist crowd-pleaser, who can whip 'em up. She's pulling out all the rhetorical stops, and the crowd love it. Ken can't match this approach. Rantzen's got no party Ken can attack, and she's gurning and gagging like a trouper. The panel mix and the questions coming in have thrown Ken. He's trying to recover ground, but failing. He'll need a few large brandies, and five inches of matured Monte Christo in the Green Room to get over this. bimyo
Toynbee 12th June: >> I supported Tony Blair right through the 2005 election, despite the Iraq war, as I thought he had one more election win in him. But when he plummeted in the polls and became a liability for Labour, he had to go. >> http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/20...our-coup-glover An apparatchik of the very worst order.
