Cutting Frontline Services In The Recession

Recommended Posts

My daughter is 18 today. She got a birthday card through the post today from the local Council, along with a postal voting application form.

Is this threatened by recessionary cutbacks?

Surely the Tories must ringfence that sort of thing, I mean, it's supposed to be a civilised society we live in, right?

Recession or no recession, I'd hope it'd be cut back pronto. Lovely though I'm sure your daughter is, I don't pay CT so that she can get a birthday card.

Please tell me my irony detector is faulty tonight and you're not really advocating this crap.

Given that this is a local council, they've probably sent the same birthday card to everyone, and a postal voting form to just her. Don't be surprised if she's elected for your Commons constituency at the next GE as the only candidate standing.
