A Testing Offer

Recommended Posts

We have seen a nice 4 bed (3 doubles and 1 single) house in a village in South Yorkshire.

It os on at £199,950. They are a middle aged couple who claim that they are downsizing. Pah.

We bid £160,000. They stated that they would not accept this at this stage.

I have informed them that I will not budge and that the offer remains on the table until the end of July.

Lets see if they fold.

Wow - you must be rolling in it.

Property Guru would have put at least 1k at stake. Except he'd have bet the other way. And then offended everybody.

Bet you will want to lower your offer by the end of July . .......and if they get back in September you will want to offer even less

Often people say what they really mean and we miss that true meaning. Were those exact words used?

If so, they are effectively saying "we are going to play our carsd close to our chest. We could accept that offer but we are going tocross our fingers for a little more first".

How long has it been on? How does it compare to prices previously paid for similar props on the street?
