Barclays' Online Banking And Cash Machines Are Buggered

Recommended Posts

Wail.

All Barclays customers have been blocked from withdrawing cash and using internet banking after a computer glitch froze its entire network.

Sources said a 'hardware failure' has impacted on various areas of the business, causing all of its ATMs in the south of England to stop working from 1pm...

Who is going the first to speculate that this is the start of the implosion of the banking system and not just a plain vanilla computer bug ... ?

It's crash time where all going to die and swine flu is spreading as well.

It's time to panic people the lizards are coming to eat us all, the Barclays glitch is the sign for the invasion to begin.

This is exactly what the response was to be last year had the financial system collapsed.

Maybe barclays are testing their capability to freeze everything, maybe someone accidentally enabled the process but a plain glitch/bug at a financial institution with those levels of protection and redundancy? Little chance imho.

I seem to recall that from the end of last year the day after every online banking/ATM software glitch the government seemed to have added another brand to its portfolio of financial services.

Barclays Stockbrokers is working fine.

I blame that Doris who is getting double pay by mistake. They hadn't accounted for that and have now run out of money.

They hold the shares in a separate trust account, so in the event of Barclays going down, your share portfolio will be no more affected than if you held it elsewhere.

Yes, it will be just as worthless in the subsequent state of emergency in a seperate brokerage as it would be if barclays had set fire to it then put the ashes into orbit, so not to worry.
