What do you think worth a punt buy a couple of thousand and leave them in the draw for a few years?

Better still, LTM.

Try some punctuation, some grammar and improve the spelling.

Then you might get a better response.

;)

Why not sell a house and put a couple of £100K in. LLOY will probably gain 100% - 300% in the next 2-3 years.

Edit: DYOR, IMHO.

In a spare moment sometime i'd quite like you to explain why you used a capital 'S' in the last line of your signature.

It's considerably harder to change to capitals than not, you presumably had to hold down the 'shift' key to do it... and I suppose I wondered why, really?

Nah, you'd be better off with a few BTL. You can't go wrong with bricks and mortar.

I have a few grand there, thankyou. But apart from the recent Lloyds issue, my shares go back to when they were much cheaper.

Go ahead, put your money in, do your little bit to raise the value of my holding. You don't want to miss the boat!

All the hostility just because he's a bull :o

Why are you asking here anyway, house prices are falling 90%, the FTSE is going below 1000, the collapse of the Western way of living is imminent and we all need to buy gold and beans. Hadn't you gathered that?

My advice was serious. He should sell his house and put it all into LLOY. It can only go up from here. The government have picked a winner IMHO and the taxpayer can't lose.

OK, not 100% serious, but that's one viewpoint on investing in LLOY.

Get them bought FFS. RBS at 39p and Lloyds at 68p. I've never seen anything like it in my bl00dy life.

I'm pretty sure that if you stick 10k into each of them and shut the drawer, in 5 years time you'll be very happy you did.

You'd probably pull in enough to buy a decent house in cash, actually.

What's gold and beans got to do with it? I'm safe because I've got 3 tonnes of washing powder and 100 pairs of Levis..

I agree. Lloyds and RBS look good. British Airways gave a strong buy signal today as well. I'd also think about investing in the Chinese stock market, Dubai real estate (will rebound strongly, now's the time for the smart money) and how about going long in Vietnamese Dong? The Russian rouble is looking good too. I'd think about shorting gold and silver, maybe you could fund this through an additional loan secured against your property? I'd also think about going into FTSE futures long. Yesterday's action still didn't penetrate the 4300 barrier, so it will be clearly be heading back up now. I'd go in with a big stop - you shouldn't worry about further falls.

I look forward to some more of your market tips. Please keep us informed

Edited to add FTSE market tips - I was worried he might miss out on a great buying opportunity

Going against the flock is the best way to make good decisions in life.

Experts  and everyone else at the moment are saying don't touch equities and defenetely run far away from banking stock as the cat is about to be strangled.

What it actually means is that it's time to fill your boots with them and hold for a few years. You know what to do.
