What Is Venezuela Up To...?

Recommended Posts

Venezuela banning coke zero , citing "health reasons"...

I find the rest of the story much more worrying, however, with the ousting of foreign companies, and the nationalisation of may others.

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez is a ... in the process of nationalising much of the economy.

The government this year has seized a rice mill and pasta factory belonging to US food giant Cargill and has threatened action against pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

Venezuela, the world's ninth largest oil producer, has nationalised much of its oil and gas sector since Mr Chavez came to power, and recently took over its third largest bank, Banco de Venezuela.

Could this have something to do with the recent increases in petrol prices...?

Chavez has been nationalising anything he can get his hands on for the past 10 years. It's old news.

Not only are the Yanks nationalising everything in their country, but they are busy nationalising the rest of the planet. Well, at least the parts of the planet that have something worth stealing.

As for Coca-Cola, what a fine example of a modern kleptocracy.

Eh no, I just live in reality, not some bubbleheaded fantasy. Just be glad you don't live in a country where a company like Coca-Cola can steal your land, your property, your water, your livelihood, and if they fancy it, your life. You live in the UK, whilst it has it's problems, we are relatively well insulated from the worst of the kleptocracy.

As for the US, have they bombed any of your social activites recently? Thought not, lucky you.
