Doubtful, you cannot have two Queens in the same room together without at least one self-destructing.

What really f*cks me off is the amount of unelected people in senior government jobs. I know we didn't 'vote' Gordon PM but at least he is an elected member of parliament.

Strange observation in the context of meeting the Queen.

So, as a 'Lord' yourself, you'll vote for the ending of the unelected House of Lords.

Will you support the total disappearance of a second chamber, or will you go for some sort of elected one? We'll need some really interesting rules to cover the question of who has priority in a dispute between two elected chambers but with different parties in power in each!

That's why the current illegitimate H Of L is so useful - it can be overruled or, in case of 'money bills', totally ignored. Once it is given legitimacy - say be being voted in - it'll throw its weight around. That wouldn't do, would it?

OK, we all know every bill needs Royal Ascent. In reality this is a given I can't imagine HM refusing to sign. If so HM would have vetoed many a crap law.

Of course, he was one of those who was booted out a few years back <_<

Does that mean she climbs all over it before giving approval - or does Charles mount it?
