And I'm not finished quite yet. What spurious altruism prompted this 39 year old equities trader to 'make a difference' to someone else's life ? Is he going to give the money he raises to charity ? No sir. Is he going to try to exit his over-leveraged lifestyle, in a recession, at the expense of a host of daft punters ? Sure looks like it to me. In fact, the difference he will make to others is to raise the expectations of thousands and probably let down the eventual winner with a shoddy prize (although the trader says that the eventual winner is, depending on ticket sales, likely to walk off with a 'substantial' cash prize). Pass the sick bag, Alice.
