Greedy Flipper, Or Fraud?

Recommended Posts

This house has just come on the market:

£240k

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sa...y-26006501.html?

This was on in Jan09 and was progressively reduced from 225k down to 200k. This sold in March this year for £175k. It's the type of house I like, but this one is not for me.

http://www.houseprices.co.uk/e.php?q=PO7+7PP

I have proof, as I save to PDF all the houses I'm interested in.

So, greedy flipper or something else? 175k is a very good price for a home like this, and represents a 2001/2002 price.

I viewed this one late 2006 ........

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sa...x%3D79%26y%3D16

It was a urine-soaked hovel that needed complete refurbishment and sold for 200k on 04/01/2007.

It was quickly put back on the market at 330k and is still there at offers over 279k!!! A nearby 4-bed house on a very large plot (needing less work) recently sold for 250k.

I asked the EA what improvements had been made and was told all that has happened is that the owner has been granted PP to extend and convert loft (stupid overdevelopment as it is built on such a small plot).

I often drive past and it appears to be occupied (probably by the owners - it has never been offered to let).

I hope they are happy in their urine-soaked hovel.

Like you I keep details of lots of house in particular REPOSSESSIONs

About a month ago I saw a house reduced from 135 down to 50k , and it said if further offers could better this repossesion please enquire

Anyway I actually was not interested in this house at all but I phoned the EA and I was very taken aback by his attitude

The conversation went something like this.

ME I have an interest in something like this 50k house

EA You wont have an interest in this , it needs stacks of work ,its falling down etc etc

And he was aggressive in the way he tried to get me to have NO interest in this property

I believe that some of these EA's are actually selling to their mates and then immediatly putting them back on the market and pocketing thousands

Anyway , quite often there are houses that are obvioulsy going to be repossesed and they are under offer at VERY low money

I will keep records of these and then spend a few quid seeing who bought it. If I suspect anything then i will DEFINETLY contact the police

Maybe this is what is happening in your area

It's got a skate post code.

Why would you want to move there?

I don't know what you mean by 'skate', but the area is quite good. It's a family area with this acorn classification:

Wealthy Achievers -> Wealthy Executives -> 04 - Well-off managers, larger houses

Secondly, I don't want to move there. I just track all detached houses up to £250k in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
