Recommended Posts

a bit of a plonge going on in the stock markets.

Never heard it called a plonge before.

My portfolio's doing fine thanks.

It all depends what one has exposed oneself too.

A number of big companies paid out large divendends today

Rexam, National Grid, Vodaphone

At ex dividend date, the shares adjust down by roughly the same as the divendend paid.

Also some profit taking from oil share holders.

I've never called a Black Day before, and cant really call this one as the day's already started. But there does seem to be a bit of a plonge going on in the stock markets. Let's meet up later and see where it ends.

Portaferry is lovely.

Took me a moment to get that ;)

The whole county is very pretty. Except the (small, mainly urban) parts that aren't. I proposed to my wife on Scrabo.

"I go up", said the elevator, "or down."

"Good," said Zaphod, "We're going up."

"Or down," the elevator reminded him.

"Yeah, OK, up please."

There was a moment of silence.

"Down's very nice," suggested the elevator hopefully.

"Oh yeah?"

"Super."

"Good," said Zaphod, "Now will you take us up?"

"May I ask you," inquired the elevator in its sweetest, most reasonable voice, "if you've

considered all the possibilities that down might offer you?"

One could easily lower the tone of this thread.
