Daily Mail still valuing at 2007 prices: apparently a £650k house, as opposed to £500k in the Sun.

My sympathy for the owner was tempered slightly by their attempt to get some free advertising ("luxury £500,000 detached house" "£500,000 des res" "s*****y detached house"). However:

HORRIFIED house-seller Anthony Clench returned from Spain to find his £500,000 des res TRASHED after one of his estate agents threw a boozy party.

The shocked customer also discovered his treasured vintage car pranged — and another motor WRITTEN OFF.

Mayhem erupted after an employee at Vickery and Co went to a pal’s birthday party at a pub — then grabbed the keys to the s*****y detached house from his office at kicking-out time.

Trainee Joseph Young, 23, invited the birthday boy and another chum round to the four-bed house in Surrey, a court heard.

Prosecutor Rachel Davies said: “He knew that the owners would be away and it was somewhere they could go back to drink and socialise. Things got slightly out of hand.â€

Sozzled Young — who had just quit his job — set about wrecking the place with one of his mates, Guildford Crown Court heard.

Jamie Turvill, whose birthday it was, was left aghast as the berserk pair RIPPED OUT door frames, SMASHED doors, chairs, statues and photo frames and RUINED duvets by pouring Tippex on them.

The vintage car parked in the garage was DAMAGED before the two took the owner’s Skoda for a drunken joyride — and CRASHED it into a tree down the road.

A neighbour saw them scarpering and phoned police. They were arrested nearby.

Young’s manager Abby Brasier said that because the property was so expensive — and unoccupied — the trainee had never been asked to show anyone round it.

Young admitted criminal damage — as did his chum Bradley Conway, 23, who was also convicted of aggravated vehicle-taking. The pair, both from Frimley, will be sentenced later.

Mr Clench was left with his Skoda written off, a £5,200 bill for damage to his home in Deepcut — plus the cost of repairs to his vintage car.

He fumed: “It was obviously not the happiest of occasions to find what I did on my return.â€

A chap I used to know used to take the ladies back to the more impressive gaffs we had on the books.

He was always carefull to establish the owner had no plans to visit.

However he was less carefull of leaving the lights on and was interupted at a critical time by the police, who had been called by a neighbour.

Doesn't say which Estate Agency. Shame really.

Yes they do.

Mayhem erupted after an employee at Vickery and Co went to a pal’s birthday party at a pub — then grabbed the keys to the s*****y detached house from his office at kicking-out time.

Recent 'Testimonials'

I'm loving the first 'testimonial':

The staff went over the top in terms of what they did for us, they really couldn't have done any more. They were proactive in lots of areas, some of which it probably wasn't up to them to deal with.
