Gordon Wants The V Sign

Recommended Posts

Having had a bit of time to read some of the financial press today, there does now seem to be a debate about how realistic the prospect of a 'V' Shape recession is. I think most pundets are now saying this is highly unlikely, and the reality is that the UK is more likely to get a 'W' shaped recession.

The theory behind a W recession seems quite robust. The Government currently has all the liquidity and fiscal taps on full, and at some point will have to rein this liquidity creation and fiscal spend in.

So the economy may have hit a form of bottom, but its only a bottom with the all the economic levers on the full stimulus setting. So we may now be seeing the middle of the W, bit after this its back down again.

What views do HPCers have on this?

Speaking of 'V'

I liked the first series, as cheesy as it was.

Am I showing my age?

Great! They were the original lizard people.

Why do we limit ourselves to the Roman alphabet? I want a recession shaped like one of these :-
