Mariot Curve Hotel In West India Docks, Canary Warf

Recommended Posts

The wife and I stayed in the above establishment on Saturday night. We were on the first floor at the very end 'pointy bit'.

We went out, had a meal and then sat in the window of our room to watch the masses. It was totally empty by 10.30! We were very disappointed because we were looking forward to a good spot of people watching.

This was a beautiful early summer eve, on a bank holiday weekend. Is there a time when this area is supposed to be busier? I would say no. Even when we were having our meal there were loads of empty tables and no queues at all.

How long can these buinesses go on like this?

PS Glad to see the lights/tv's all get switched off around there....not! What on earth is the carbon footprint of that place?

Surely all the Cityboys go to their country pads at the weekends? A lot of people only live there during the week and leave at weekends. You'llprobably find it much busier during the week I suspect. Bank holiday weekend also.

It didn't used to be quiet there at weekends. It was a great place to go for the middle class people living in the surrounding areas (and they could even drive there!).

I had a few pleasant evenings there. You can eat outside and stroll about then have a few beers by the water.

Very pleasant, relaxed, continental, clean, no trouble, water lapping everywhere. You just wouldn't think it was in London.

This is the point I am trying to make....an area that size with those facilities should be at the top of the list for any mc families etc to enjoy on a day like that!
