johnwards
Hi, I'm about to put my house on the market and have been quoted £350+VAT for a HIP pack by the estate agent. My solicitor has quoted me £300 inc VAT. The online HIP providers are looking tempting with those prices. However the estate agent warned me against the online services, something to do with paying twice for insurance or something. Are the online ones fine? Any recommendations? Cheers John

It was more an online supplier question. I am more than happy with my solicitor, known him for years.
The Conveyancer
It was more an online supplier question. I am more than happy with my solicitor, known him for years. Why is he over charging you for the HIP then? Also if you are happy with your solicitor why are you considering an online company? To be honest the cheapest way would be to do it yourself, are there any website that help you? It really isnt rocket science putting a HIP together, you could train monkeys to do it. That is why you can get them online! Seriously though, it is better to get your solicitor to do it as he will read through the papers at the same time and may be able to spot any problems with the title sooner rather than later.
