Presenter Martin Roberts says:

With prices dropping like a stone now might be a good time to buy.

- isnt that a contradiction?

This is for a new build city centre (tiny) 2 bed apartment in Leeds.

It went through to Auction Nov 2008

Buyer had some savings and she thought it was a good time to buy

Flat was 3 yrs old and had never been lived in.

30 Oct 08

Price at Auction: 65k

From what we know now, his advice is even worse than ever with property prices like he says dropping like a stone.

The word might is what i have problems with, most people would think that it is a good time to buy, when infact its the worse time to buy.

i disagree.

Every month between 2005 and October 08 were worse times to buy than November 08, weren't they?

I guess the time to buy is when the Beeb show "how I bankrupted myself with an irrational belief in the property bubble" presented by Stuart Law and Rosie Millard.

Actually, scratch Rosie Millard, she is just a car crash. You will buy too soon if you use her as a contra-indicator.

65K ?

I don't know if that represents value or not. I also know from being in Leeds that there is an absolute glut of flats for sale or dwelling.

But 65K ?? Not a lot of dough is it

Yeah but John Prescott can get a house built for 60K. Considering you are only leasing a space for x amount of years. And buying some flimsy walls.
