Pushing against a piece of string seems to be the best analogy.

It is not stamp duty or 1000 that is stopping people buying houses. It is fear about their jobs, fear about debt, existing house prices being too high, fear about this country as a whole, risk aversion in the lending business leading to tighter lending criteria and the almost complete breakdown of the World Financial System.

Against all that - a grand and a holiday on stamp duty seems like pissing in the wind.

And it took the entire Labour think tank a week of consultation to come up with there plan.

Do you think they actually considered any of the factors you detail above ? when they came up with there master plan :lol:
