This ZaNuLabour Government is the worst in British history.

They are completely Shamless.

I want to see their Portilo moment at the next election as the results are read out.

Just to watch their pale faces as they realise that the people have just said F**koff.

Highly unlikely to happen but I'd just love to see their faces if they were arrested and tried for treason and fraud in a peoples' revolutionary court.

Wishful thinking only of course

I can imagine their wimpering pathetic apologies and pleas for leniency when they realize the magnitude of their crimes

Too fekkn bad. They are fit for the guillotine and little else

Didn't somebody find it a tad suspicious that an MP was claiming a second home allowance on her constituency residence?

Common sense would suggest that their second home would be in London if they needed to claim such an expense.

Is there anybody at all left in Westminster with a shred of decency?

They are all in it to screw the taxpayer. If the press weren't so cosy with the politicians this sort of thing would be stopped dead in it's tracks. It's just a pity someone doesn't have the money to sue people like this for waste. Our MP's are quite happy pissing billions of taxpayer cash down the drain.

Actually, it's the David Mellor moment I really want to see. Portillo went with a great deal of, quite unexpected, grace - he said words to the effect of 'the people have spoken, and they've said get lost' followed by 'Stephen Twigg ran a very good campaign and I'm sure he'll be a good MP'. David Mellor on the other hand, had a major hissy fit and got booed off the stage.

Ms Smith has claimed more than £116,000 in second home expenses - known as the Additional Costs Allowance - over several years.

Well I do hope her sister has paid tax on that income, it's a hell of a lot more than the allowance for renting out a spare room to a lodger is at the moment.

As I doubt the going rate for a house share in South London is anything like this much I wonder where the rest of the £116,000 went.

My real problem with all this pork barreling is that the is is one of the thing the Tories won't fix unless you nail them down BEFORE the election and get every one that is running for election tied up to a commitment IN WRITING to a set set of allowances and the building (buying?) of an appartment block in walking distance of Westminster that would be provided as their London residence/gulag.

Make it as plush as you like. wtih 270 of the feckers claiming a hundred grand a year each I reckon £27,000,000 would buy a very nice block of flats for grace and flavour while in government only. Its a good time to buy we are told.

If they wanted to swap it for their own 'choice', the allowance should be restricted to the the Local Housing Allowance for market rent for the number of people needing to be housed based on (normally 1) production of a tenancy agreement or morgage agreement (if they want to buy thats fine as long as they expect the taxpayer to pay no more than the LHA). They could have a further allowance at the rate of the adult unemployment benefits to help them manage to set up their second home - and if they are finding it hard to furnish on that then they could have some housing related support from the local council to help them budget and approach charities for furniture etc. and maybe a loan from the social fund (I reckon about £1,000 would be reasonable). Even with the ridiculous Westminster local housing allowance levels, it would probably still only come up to £16,000 a year tops per member.

Then they could cut my taxes (and on my wages it would take 4 years to earn what she's claiming tax free every year)

Why can they not have access to publicly owned apartments which they can rent out on their wages/allowances. It makes little sense to encourage these people to own property in a town in which they don't live.

All that stuff they get off the John Lewis list can stay in those apartments, it belongs to the taxpayer by right.

Smith was offered a grace in favour apartment in the heart of Westminister, you know the sort of places decked out with £200-a-roll wallpaper with all the normal police protection and security that goes with the building anyway, but she instead decided to squat with her sister to rip a few extra grand out of the tax payer, thus running up an extra £200k per annum police bill.

Will the tories go after her on this one? If they don't you can be sure they are all at it.

Don't worry, karma will sort it all out, NuLabour won't know what's hit them May next year, they've already been destroyed at the local level, whenever people are given the chance the message is clear.

I've always thought there should be a straight forward hotel-like building to house all this lot. One building to defend.

A sort of hotel, where they just have a small serviced flat. No redecorating and refurnishing on demand.

Bars on the windows, a barbed wire perimiter, armed guards, alsations, searchlights and watch towers. I can see it now in my minds eye. A truly socialist experience for the criminals of ZanuLabour.

Because I thought politicians were supposed to do what's best for US.

You thunk Oh so wrong!

Politicians (every single last one) are in it for one thing only - themselves.

The whole system (not just the political side) is a lie and a scam.

(I thought everyone knew that by now?)

They normally do, take Milliband this week, the Americans said "jump" he said "how high?".
