How something like that could have ever reached 140k is beyond me....

Me too. It's a nice enough area but it's a small flat with a weird layout and needs renovating. Even the agents were annoyed that the company that repo'd it wouldn't budge on the price for months - it was repo'd well over a year ago, by the way.

It was bought in Aug '02 for 63K. I wonder how long before it gets back to that?

Planning to watch this one - the cheeky chappies had this for sale at 150k only weeks ago - now going to auction with a Guide Price of 85k.

It's a repo now in the hands of the Halifax - and with Halifax EA's.

Actually a good solid place - will be an interesting auction on Monday.

Interesting.... this is 2 more examples, both were featured on this morning's "To buy or Not to Buy".

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sa...tirement%3Dtrue

Was asking £164,950, now asking £89,950

History

date event

20 January 2009 * Price changed: from '£120,000' to 'Offers in Excess of £89,995

04 October 2008 * Price changed: from 'Offers in Excess of £150,000' to '£120,000

05 April 2008 * Initial entry found

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sa...on%26index%3D10

And this one was asking £149,950, and ended up asking £99,950. It now shows as sold, but wonder why the agent has amended the listing a month after it showed as sold ?

That first one is a park home. Basically 2 mobile homes shoved together with the chassis and wheels removed. They go DOWN in value like a camper van. IMHO, they should not be advertised as 'homes' or 'bungalows' at all.

I agree, and I bet they have high site maintenance charges too.

That'll be because that's what he neededo pay off the mortgage. The MC won't usually let you sell a property for less than you owe.

They insist on reposessing it and then selling it for even less, because it's now a dump.

That's a known property bee bug, the EA didn't actually change the listing, it was just the way RM changed the site.
