On the front page of today's Telegraph's Business section:

"A weak currency arises from a weak economy, which in turn is the result of a weak government."

- Gordon Brown 1992

Couldn't make it up could you

Broon must realize he is on borrowed time. His position is not teneble.

Is there somewhere a good old list of the funny noises he spouts?

Broon will be a laughing stock for generations

'The man who bankrupted Britain'

It should be inscribed on his gravestone.....in GRANITE, not limestone

"A weak currency arises from a weak economy, which in turn is the result of America economic failure"

There we are fixed. Clearly this is what Ponzi Brown meant in 1992, you are just trying to trip up our dear leader well I'm telling you it won't work.

Now it's fit for general consumption by the masses.

Your names have been taken down, please report to your nearest re-education centre.

Nah:

His grave stone should be inscribed:

"This place is licenced for public singing and dancing"

Charge: Five Pounds

Just re-reading 1984 again at the moment. A fantastic book for these times, different sections seem far more pertinent than when I've read it before. I love the re-writing of history / The Times which is the protagonist’s job at the Ministry of Truth.

For myself, I'm now convinced you can borrow your way out of debt.

Debt is Wealth.

1984 is a great book, it should be taught in every single school.

Stalin was the master at re-writing history.

No he wasn't.

Yes he was, he airbrushed Trotsky et al out of the Russian revolution, in some cases literally when it came to photographs.

I'm not saying it was convincing but when you have a choice of believing or face the gulag I think you'll decide to believe the ******** even if you know it's ********. And pretty soon you'll accept it as the truth.

It must have been odds of somethng like a one in a million to have timed his exit so perfectly purely by chance.

precisely....took him 18 months to go.... I bet even he was surprised Merv managed to keep the boom going for so long.
