Brown 'i Would Be Very Careful Making That Sort Of Remark'

Recommended Posts

Lots of us on here at the time thought his repeated thinly veiled threats to journos yesterday were extremely serious, and yet all seems to have gone quiet on this. Does anyone know if there have been any repercusions/other comments on this?

Number 479 to the re-education centre, number 479 to the re-education centre.

I noticed that last night. I think the BBC journalist was re-running what he said when bailout no. 1 was announced. He was challenged if it would be enough at the time and the above quote was his answer.

Same thing in Ireland, the government has warned the opposition to STFU. However, this doesn't change anything, everyone can see the elephant in the room.

The re-education centre is run by the state, therefore it doesn't really exist ;)

I can just see the pr1ck in the room who's trying to bankrupt us all.

What did he actually say?

So Brown was 100% correct then?

RBS was basically nationalised in everything but name yesterday, but the BBC acted like the Scotish Bank didn't exist, just general coverage of The Plan from the Great Leader.

I suppose Eco Porn is the new Property Porn, they have to keep the band playing on the Titanic so the passengers drown in blissful ignorance.

Guy on radio 4 just before 8am today being interviewed was saying {northern rock} is technically bankrupt. But it's about liquidity in the economy and keeping the banks solvent.<... then he went on to mention rearranging deckchairs on the titanic

When asked if he thought this bailout would work he just laughed.

Take a look out of your front window. Is there a black Omega parked there ?

If so, I suggest you take a fast submarine to Bolivia. Or somewhere. anywhere.

This was the backdrop on Newsnight I presume you're on about. If you looked carefully, the bottom of the R in RBS was in the top left hand corner. It was a corporate banner of some kind with all the UK bank's logos on it that was clipped to fit on the backdrop. I don't know it it was really in the studio or superimposed for TV effect but I think it was just an accident, not deliberate. More conspiracy rubbish IMHO. I mean, Santander was there and I don't think they operate in the UK under that name in the high street. They just own Abbey and A&L.

The vatican city exists, therefore god does! :P

It exists as a piece of land, any formal title or status is a deluded claim to statehood. Unless you're willing to admit formal states do indeed exist, if only in the minds of men

Of course he laughed, there is no question. our Great Leader saved the world and now he's saving it again! He was laughing at the doubters, how can they even question the wisdom and unended ability of our Great Leader and Glorious Puppet Chancellor.

This is the week people will realise Brown is utterly powerless and out of his depth, making it up as he goes along, and that chiseling the next generation into penury is highly irresponsible and only making matters worse. Does he truly believe he's cleverer or any more in control of events than previous PM's that presided over recessions or the 30's era depression? It was his arrogance that got us into this mess with his "end to boom and bust" and "miracle economy" because he single handedly rewrote the laws of economics, it's the same again on the downside, he's uniquely placed to f**k that up too.

Not yet.... But my IP address is in Belgium, I think.....

I'm half waiting for the tragic announcement about a group of assorted journos on a hillwalking trip, as well as reviewing my own leisure activities and holiday arrangements....

Edit to add: I have excellent CV fitness, am not suicidal and do not partake of dangerous substances, except caffeine, BTW. It'll have to be a 'slipped and fell' for me.
