Unlike Brown, he wasn't largely responsible for the problem (OK, he could have made balancing the books a higher priority immediately following his election, but he certainly didn't preside over a huge borrowing binge he knew full well would cause massive hardship later), and unlike Brown, he is now trying to force his compatriots to face up to it. If the Californians are silly enough to sack him, then as far as I'm concerned he's welcome to have a go at 'terminating' the incumbents of Downing Street.
