Again?

World of Leather -> Land of Leather -> Universe of Leather?

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Home-and-Ga...tion520244.html

A few years ago World of Leather went bankrupt and I think someone bought them out and rebranded themselves as "land of leather", often using the same shops.

I think this is a great analogy to the housing market.

A few months ago Land of Leather was made what I considered at the time to be a very fair offer for the purchase of the company. In the climate of right now it looks downright generous.

Yet it was dismissed by the board and being substantially below what the company was worth. So just like many homeowners they are choosing Pride and bankruptcy over recognising the new reality. They must be kicking themselves for not taking that offer several months back.

Did a pigeon bring you the news or do you have an electronic ticker tape attached to your brain? I now have a vision of you at the heart of a Wallace & Gromit style communications hub!

Shares in Land of Leather, the furniture retailer, have been suspended "pending clarification of the company's financial position", and the chain has lined up an administrator in case its situation deteriorates.

I hope they are not suggesting they might sell less than one Sofa today?

Personally I would not trust any company at the moment with 'Land', 'Village', 'World' or 'Gulag' in their title. 'Poundland' being perhaps the exception.
