  1. Swansea landlord bemoans rowdy tenants and says regulation is hurting the rental sector Read more at http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/swansea-landlord-bemoans-rowdy-tenants-and-says-there-is-too-much-regulation/story-30059335-detail/story.html#Ji5rAMKMU14sbzdT.99
  2. Apologies for the simplistic explanation. A few years ago there was some talk of building residential homes by pension companies (and insurance companies?) that would be rented out to tenants on a long term basis. The rental income in turn would then generate a persion for investors. Pretty much how it works in Germany, I understand. Have any of these places been built in the UK yet? I would rather rent this way than via a spiv landlord.

    Flathunting Rant

Decided to look for another place to live, preferrably closer to work. Just wanted to vent as it seems that most of the places that have come up for rent that interest me are 'furnished'. I have my own crappy furniture to put in the flat, thank you very much! Not all tenants want to sleep on the cheapest, nastiest beds provided. Or sleep in the same bed that the previous owner occupier probably died in Or take a risk in the knowledge that any accidental damage to the 1960s teak unit/sideboard will possibly result in £50 being deducted from the deposit! Rant over!
