  1. Conservative MP Jacob-Rees Mogg has compared the death rate in Boer War concentration camps to the death rate in Glasgow at the time. Rees-Mogg: "The death rates were exactly the same as in Glasgow" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-47247835/jacob-rees-mogg-comments-on-concentration-camps Fact check: Death rates in British concentration camps: "In all, about one in four (25 percent) of the Boer inmates, mostly children, died." Death rates in Glasgow via the Herald "Glasgow, in 1901, had a population of 762,000 and, according to the National Records of Scotland, 16,190 people died. That dropped slightly to 15,530 in 1902." Taken over 3 years that amounts to a death rate of 6% Remember the days when we had politicians who at least had some idea what they were talking about.
  2. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/jun/20/asking-prices-for-homes-in-england-and-wales-rise-to-record-high "Asking prices for homes in England and Wales have risen to a new record high, and sales are being agreed quicker than at any point since 2010, according to latest figures from the property website Rightmove" ‚ÄčThis tells us exactly nothing. No that's unfair, it tells us asking prices are up, but can someone tell me what this means in the grand scheme of things?
  3. Well, here we are again folks. It's Election fever time.....well not quite yet...if ever....errrr......hmm... Your ears are destined to bleed for the next 7 weeks, your senses shattered by salvoes if lies, disinformation, propaganda, more lies, shouting, screeching, accusations of extremism and other fruit loopery. And that's before Diane Abbott has opened her mouth. For my part, I fall firmly into the George Carlin school of thought. The one thing that the political class covets above everything else is LEGITIMACY because without your participation in this rotten, broken corrupted system, they are POWERLESS and they have NOTHING. I don't believe the political class is legitimate. Most people don't even bother to vote, and quite frankly, I don't blame them so I'll be spoiling my ballot paper. None of these shysters will be getting my consent to steal my money, destroy my nation, steal my freedom and turn the UK into an Islamic caliphate Politicians are lying, greedy, venal, corrupt ****$uckers who don't give a flying fekk about you, your family of any normal decent hardworking people. They are in it for themselves and every political party now (with the possible exception of UKIP.......yes I said "possible") is really just a bought and controlled vassal of the supranational banking/corporate elite. They are vermin, a plague, an infestation So having laid it on the line so to speak, I started this thread so you can vent your spleen and chuckle at the tsunami of duplicity and lies that is going to overwhelm your lives for the next few weeks. Miliband has got us off to a cracking start. He never fails to disappoint. He has the social skills of a shop mannequin, the panache and charisma of woodchip wallpaper, the table manners of of a tramp with no teeth chewing a stale glass and bacon buttie. Yup! Cracking start for the Labour Party, whose election strategists seem to have been recruited from a comprehensive school in Luton. Congratulation Ed, you utter MONG But rest assured, nobody will escape the ridicule and contempt that is so richly deserved! Watch this space!
