  1. I wondered if anyone else is hoping to buy in the Manchester area and fancied sharing information? I was priced out of Altrincham so have been looking at Sale but am a bit shocked at the price inflation over the last 12 months. The 3 bed end terrace type houses that were selling for 260-270k this time last year are now going on the market for 325k. I’ll wait and see what this one actually sold for: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-70944461.html If actual sold prices have shot up that much then I’m also priced out of Sale and will be looking at Urmston/Stre
  2. Got this through this morning from a local EA in Altrincham, Manchester. interesting note about the lack of buyers. October 20-30 viewings in a week and a quick sale, now lucky to get 5-10 viewings. http://jamesonpartners.co.uk/blog/happening-property-prices/?ct=t(EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2_1_2018)&mc_cid=55f0707bef&mc_eid=5f2bf57c42
  3. So i viewed the following house in Bolton https://www.sdlauctions.co.uk/property/15107/detached-house-for-auction-bolton/ Bolton is not my preferred area, though this place caught my eye and is a nice enough house, but the pictures are about 10 years out of date. It's also leasehold, though it's a 1,000 year lease from 1900 and the only condition is that it's not used as a pub, which might move trade from the pub next door. Also, 3 bed is being really generous. The third bedroom is not big enough for a bed and the ability to open the door. The cellar mentioned is not big enough
  4. Whilst browsing the MCC constitution I came across the following: PENSIONS 12.1 All Members are entitled to access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, made under section 7 of the Superannuation Act 1972. 12.2 Both the basic and special responsibility allowances shall be treated as amounts in respect of which such pension is payable. So they get a pension on the nearly 15k allowance they get? The basic for 13/14 is 15,956 (job, number of cllrs, extra allowance, total) 1 Members not in receipt of special responsibility allowance 66 15,956 - 2 Opposition Lead Member on Finance 1 15,956
  5. Interesting news for Manchester indeed http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/business/manchester-city-etihad-stadium-adug-7313788
