What's so bad about flats? Have you actually lived in one? They may not suit everyone, but neither do houses. I'd choose a modern and spacious flat over an old grotty and awkwardly built house you'd get for the same money, and with the square meter garden people only throw rubbish in.

That wasn't very nice thing to do. Why not show some respect? Not everyone may not be an expert or spend a lot of time discussing property prices.

you're in your early 20:s - until you're in a position to buy i suggest you get on with life and enjoy the many things there are to appreciate other than home ownership... owning a house may add security but don't make it become an obsession!! i've lived very comfortably, cheaply and happily for many years... The obsession about home ownership in this country is very unhealthy....

Teens worrying about property prices? I'm shocked and sad. Perhaps it's because I wasn't brought up in the UK, but when I was at that age I was lucky to have other things in my life to care about than to "get on the property ladder"...
