Tesla...............the Betamax of future cars?
Gurgle replied to Maghull Mike's topic in House prices and the economy
So the model Y numbers are very high in March and then drop off the Top 10. Almost certainly related to March being the month for new registration numbers. People of a certain type rush to have the latest plate, they're generally the same type who buy what they perceive to be the latest status symbol items too so this actually makes total sense to me. Will be interesting to see if the same happens in September -

Saw an interesting interview with Musk today who admitted that if you own a Tesla then you have signed up to terms and conditions that your car could be used in a future Tesla robotaxi network, but prevents you from participating in any other network. Who knew ? -

In his case plenty. He and his friends are a long way from being stupid too. The conversations they have are very impressive. We focused heavily on providing the best education we could. For some people, including me, design is important. Cars are not simply a tool to get from A to B for me and for many other people. So yes, the way it looks AND the way it makes me feel is extremely important to me. Tesla fails miserable on both counts I'm afraid. I fully acknowledge that is purely subjective. Nope, he is very happy to debate points and argue his case and has very clear opinions of his own on many topics. We brought him up to think independently and debate with us. But you can believe what you want, I don't care. -

American universities are, in general, overrated and overpriced. There are a few exceptions which are just overpriced but are very good. There are plenty of cheaper alternatives which are just as good, and in most cases better than the US. -
What is she up to?(Priti V Sishi)

If they vote Johnson in they'll get what they ask for. Hot air and no meaningful policies. And likely 20 years out in the cold. Probably that's what the conservatives need actually, just like labour in the 80s and 90s. -

Hahaha. The woman that presided over 1m immigrants in a single year ? The only person who can save the conservatives is Penny Mordaunt at this point but they’ll never choose her. -

Quality is much more important that quantity: ask yourself why so many wealthy Chinese send their kids to western countries for college studies. India graduates are embarrassingly poorly educated in my experience. No critical thinking or Independent thought capabilities whatsoever -
Start the conversation yourself, watch him squirm That’s quite a sweeping statement on women. My wife fully understands debt and is very, very keen not to have any. Owning a home has always been an ambition and not a right. Realistically many people will never achieve it. Owning is not the same as a right to shelter, as has been discussed many times here One of the best comments I’ve ever seen on this forum

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/05/11/net-migration-million-home-office-government-conservative/ “Net migration may top one million this year, Home Office fears All government departments on alert as new figures out this month could see the previous peak doubled” nothing like taking back control of our borders. Quite how the home office “fears” this like someone other than them enabled it…
