This made me laugh at the absurdity of it all.
QuoteA managing director is said to have quit Goldman Sachs in London after making millions at Dogecoin.
Sources say that Aziz McMahon, a managing director and head of emerging market sales at Goldman Sachs in London, has resigned, allegedly after making money on Dogecoin the cryptocurrency championed by Elon Musk whose value rose 72 times between the start of January and late last week

Nope, never heard of it. Sounds dodgy.
maybe, but looks like it's similar to localbitcoins. A P2P platform using escrow and you can use cash & meet in prson which you can't do with Lb anymore.

Has anyone used hodlhodl.com to sell or buy btc?

Amazing how cycles repeat, last bull run you can see ETH (orange line)making a massive move against BTC at roughly the same stage we are at now (Blue & Red lines). ETH yet to break ATH against BTC which it may well do then it will crash against BTC. So in this bull run this next week or so could be Alt Peak 1 before BTC does its thing and then we have another Alt peak later in the cycle.

Gold is about to do quite well... I think diversification is really important at the moment... I think we're going to face a 2008 crash < 12 months probably this year.
agree with that, some say US govt/fed trying to engineer the crypto top with stock market top for around Sep before markets start crashing in Q4.

Accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young creating FUD yesterday
QuoteHMRC is to begin demanding data on holdings of cryptocurrencies from taxpayers it suspects of tax evasion and avoidance, says UHY Hacker Young, the national accountancy group.
UHY Hacker Young explains that HMRC’s ‘statement of assets’ form (used to demand a complete accounting of all a taxpayer’s assets in an investigation) will now include explicit demands for information on cryptos and other assets including those commonly used by organised crime, including:
- Cryptoassets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum
- Assets in ‘value transfer’ systems, such as:
- Black Market Pesos, a system commonly used by Mexican and Colombian drug cartels, which converts drug sale revenues in the US and Europe to local currencies without the money having to cross a border
- Hundi, an Indian system of credit notes that has existed since the 12th century and is still used by merchants and Hawala, a similar money transfer system common in the Middle East and Africa
- Fei ch’ien, trust-based money transfer system commonly used in China’s hidden financial system
- Assets in E-money wallets like PayPal
UHY Hacker Young says that there has been increasing concern at HMRC over recent years that the tax authority has not been able to identify cryptoassets used by tax evaders. This new demand for data on these assets is a further step in its attempt to get to grips with the problem.
Those who are found to have lied to HMRC about their assets can expect to be prosecuted, says UHY Hacker Young.
David Jones, Director at UHY Hacker Young said, “HMRC suspects that an increasing amount of hidden wealth is slipping through its fingers thanks to the rise of cryptocurrencies and other unsanctioned money transfer systems. This demand for information is an important step in HMRC’s fightback against that.”
“The initiative comes hand in hand with HMRC’s publication of its new Cryptoassets Manual. A defence of ignorance of the law in this booming sector will no longer wash with the taxman.”
“Some assets like Black Market Pesos are almost exclusively used by organised crime but criminal proceeds flow through relatively mainstream assets like Bitcoin at a rate that some find alarming. For example, cybercriminals overseas take virtually all of their ransom payments in Bitcoin to avoid detection.”
Obviously Jones is talking through his backside when talking about crime proceeds through Bitcoin as he doesn't understand blockchain. Funny thing is HMRC have come out today to dispel UHY's scaremongering
https://www.cityam.com/hmrc-were-not-clamping-down-on-crypto/
QuoteHowever, bemused senior officials at HMRC said they were baffled by the claims of a ‘crackdown’.
A spokesman told City AM that a statement of assets form requires complete accounting of all of a taxpayer’s assets and it has always included cryptocurrency. New forms, they explained, simply list ‘crypto assets’ as an example of an asset that should be declared.

What forks are worth claiming? I know there was BCH in Nov 2018. I think I might have some BTC on ledger then, how do I claim the BCH?
Was there another BCH last year?
BSV, BCH ABC, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond, any others?

Tesla probably needs the cashflow that's why they're taking profits unlike MSTR who gave a healthy FCF.
This is one of the reasons I don't buy the supercycle theory, institutions & companies will need to fund their ops via btc profits and also will have requirement to periodically rebalance their portfolio.
-
Right on schedule, dip mirrors first & second cycles, before the parabolic melt your face off move up.

@Buffer Bear if you remember a few weeks ago the debate between Mike Green & Pomp there was a question Pomp couldn't answer re 51% attack & mining empty blocks by a non economic bad actor (basically he meant China), well here's the answer from aap.

Also WeWork accepting crypto and adding btc to what's left of their balance sheet.

Sorry to be a pain, any ideas?
I've pretty much been gifted some BTC from an excellent sibling who managed to get in at $80.
I've been set up with the Wirex card, all verified and id checks done but everything is at a standstill with them due to FCA regulations. They hope to have this sorted soon but who actually knows?
I'd like to take out some of the profits to get my shopping etc so I'd really appreciate any help.
I see I have over 900 pages to read over to try to get up to speed on this!
Thanks

Most traders were expecting a dip, historically 30% dips in previous bull runs, even before Musk's tweet; could go as low as $42k and still be in a secular bull market.
