  1. This is a very bearish article. The 4th paragraph shows the source is the National Housing Federation Link . However in August last year the same organisation was predicting a 40% rise by 2012 Link. So like all the other "experts" they are revising their predictions down sharply.
  2. While we are on the subject of PL, I noticed that one of the houses from the Poole show (House 2) has now sold. On this show SB was going on about how the woman just had to do 1 renovation per year to give herself a £100k income. The original purchase was 31 Aug 2006 8 Kimberley Road, Poole, Poole BH14 8SQ Detached £495,000 Spent 210k doing it up, so a total spend of £705k was given on the show. The house was valued at £800k. It has now sold at 07 Mar 2008 8 Kimberley Road, Poole, Poole BH14 8SQ Detached Freehold £740,000 So that's £35k profit less approximately 1 years extra mortgage costs incurred while waiting for the house to sell, as well as EA fees. Prices from here.
  3. I'm not surprised that they are in trouble, as at the Rugby the other day the guy stood behind me was telling his friends that he is looking for a new job, his current job was some kind of contractor with Barratts. The reason was because apparently they have frozen all their plans to start work on new sites because they just aren't selling any properties. Their unsold stock is just building up!
  4. There's been some carnage on Property Ladder homes today. Windsor has been reduced from £699,950 to 675k, although it is still under offer. One of the Clevedon flats from this episode has now been reduced from £107,950 to £99,950. One of the houses in Poole from this episode has now been reduced from £895k to £850k. So that's three reductions in one day. Let's see what tonights episode brings.
  5. The Windsor house is still under offrt on rightmove, so despite what was said on the programme it hasn't sold. Rightmove Listing House purchase details 16 Oct 2006 Two Acres Church Road, Old Windsor, Windsor,Windsor And Maidenhead SL4 2PQ Detached Freehold £425,000
  6. The Coalbrookdale property has been reduced again. Now £289,995. Started at £310k. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-173...se&tr_t=buy

  11. She claims that she has appeared on TV as a Jessica Simpson lookalike If I was Jessica I would sue her!
  12. For some reason apostrophes have started to appear as ’ In the initial post on this thread http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=67702 the word chaos appears as “chaos†–
  13. "The EA the house is on with described him as a 'wideboy tosspot'" Ouch! Being called this by an EA has got to hurt!
  14. It's a two bedroom flat with a balcony. A bargain if ever I saw one.
  15. Also next week every HPC'ers wet dream comes true as there is a programme called "Repossession, Repossession, Repossession." It is on straight after the 10 o'clock news, so should make good bedtime viewing. Repossession, Repossession, Repossession Wednesday 6th February on ITV 1 from 10:35pm to 11:35pm ITV 1 During the past decade, Britain has grown accustomed to living the high life on debt. Now, as home repossessions and bankruptcies soar, business journalist Jeff Randall investigates how and why the nation got hooked on spending money it doesn't have - and concludes that people are about to wake up to the painful realisation that all debts eventually have to be paid.
