So what country would you look to as an example of having proper/true capitalism?
None of course. If only.
US and UK got closer in the 80s, obviously.
Switzerland is pretty good. S'pore. Was Hong Kong.
The Scandis are largely free markets, hence their woke crap keeps getting paid for.
I know it's all debt fuelled but still the idea remains. Capitalism works for the 99%. Always has. Hence the West is where it got to, over 200/250 years.

@letsbuild : Your demand for an apology over it going back to $1800 when the price is still $1950 as I type may yet end up as hilariously badly timed as the earlier call about never going below $2k, can’t people just wait?! ?

No. It's Cronyism and Corporatism.
It's not Capitalism, but it's not Socialism either.
There's bugger all point having language and terminology, if every pig thick prole is incapable of making distinctions without feeling the need to piss the few political terms they learned from some racist EDL types with a Russian state-funded website and an O-Level between them.
OK Feudalism. Who gives a f the terminology? Oh, academics. It's for the 1%, not the 99%.

Intellectually, Brown runs rings round this lot.
Jeez, how brainwashed can you be? Sorry, Marxist.
I said live on Sky in late 2006 he was the worst Chancellor in 100 years. They couldn't stop the i/v more quickly if they tried. Rather than asking why.

What do you expect? The Tory's are spin led - Cummings is the new Campbell - Sunak got the job because he rolls over for Cummings
Campbell was the new Ingham
Perhaps spin led politics has a blue, and not NuLabour, tinge?
Sunak has ended Boom and Bust...

it's infuriating because none of them know anything about economics
We're being ruled by idiots
At least Lamont/Clarke etc. knew something and had the personality to assert themselves and the conviction to set policy.
We're really screwed with this lot. They don't have a clue
They know A LOT about economics. They do not work for us.

Oh dear. Is that really what you think? You think the UK isn’t a capitalist economy?
My God that people believe we have capitalism. Brainwashed.
Cronyism/Corporatism is NOT Capitalism. It is Socialism.

Don't taint Socialism with the sh*t show that is going on here. Socialism has flaws, but they aren't the ones screwing us over now.
Yes UpFront Socialists would have made it EVEN worse, if that were possible.
Put a socialist govt in charge of an ocean and it soon will be a desert.

Was just discussing Boomers with wifey yesterday.
Basically the 65/70s+ made little money and spent it but they made a fortune tax free on their home. Luckiest generation in human history.
55-65s - lucky but not as much.
They saved even less but still made good free money on property but many with ongoing debt. They thought they'd do as well as parents. These people in massive denial. Many will HAVE to trade down in retirement. Parents didn't need to. More sales than buys at upper end...
Next gens f'd! They thought they'd do as well as parents. ?
Millennials? Marxist idiots.

Seems like a bigwig perhaps a government is dumping gold, probably US. I would still expect PM to go up regardless!
Seems like we are in material correction. IF ONLY someone had told me.
The support is at the ATH of ~1920. US opens materially below that and door opened to 1800. Stops will be executed left, right and centre. Headed <1800. Tick Tock.
At ~1800 re-evaluate for next move. 50/50 at this point we go below 1700 or just below 1800 for the bottom for the correction. Too early to tell.

Huh - I just woke up. We now have $100/day moves. Truly a sign gold has awoken.
Wake me up at $3,000!
Now back to napping.
GF
P.S.: Silver...!!
The permabulls telling the unsophisticated that the correction is over. It's just started. They are charlatans. Pretending they are so wise, anonymous on an online forum. They should go to mumsnet.
In investing perma anything is disastrous for your wealth.
HENCE I was HATED on this thread as Gold / Silver peaked and went into bear mkt. I didn't come on much because the posters were mostly charlatans.
The moment you spout anything negative you are a bad person and should be excommunicated. THE SIGN of a cult. 1. They will make less money. 2. They are stopping the unsophisticated from maximising the opportunity.
BE CAREFUL WHO YOU LISTEN TO.

You didn't have the balls to short it so why should I apologise?
The fundamentals are still sound for gold there is no reason to be concerned.
Short a bull market??? YOU HAVE NO IDEA!
I sold a huge amount a week or so back and kept on selling till yesterday. Personally, I'm 100% out.
Muted, as totally useless. I wish HPC had a block facility so charlatans like you would never be able to read my quality comments. All you do is snipe and insult. You do not take a heed from those who know vastly more than you. My definition of arrogance is telling people you know more than you do.

‘Misguided traders’ really? Killer Bunny called this pull back. I don’t know the first thing about trading but I imagine it requires buying and selling.
It’s a Correction. (Jargon: correction>pullback).
Investing doesn’t NEED buying and selling but it can help.
Just watch the bulls squeal ie not snipe and snarky comments, much further down than today (1950).

Fundamentals are still sound. Ups and downs not really relevant.
In fact, good opportunity for anyone to jump and 'buy the dip'
There's no way its going to $1800 with all that's going on
You better apologise when it comes or F Off never to be seen again.

Hmmm, well I’ve not been one to say it’s going straight up, so you won’t get an apology from me. I think it got well past the 200 day moving average and some sort of correction was required.
Your demand for an apology over it going back to $1800 when the price is still $1950 as I type may yet end up as hilariously badly timed as the earlier call about never going below $2k, can’t people just wait?! ?
When it goes sub 1800 grow some.
-
1950 already. You bulls who don’t understand mkts need to lift your jaws off the ground, at the speed and size of the falls, and blink. Tick Tock.
sub 1800 maybe sub 1700.
So who’s going to be humble and acknowledge I was the only one who understood this stuff and then apologise for the insults?

Talking of which, in past years, I used to enjoy hearing your interviews quite often. Bearing in mind, I might of missed it, I haven't heard you on MSM lately.
But I was wondering if they are they not interviewing you because they fear you will tell them clearly that the HPC is imminent and why?
Or maybe they are waiting until the figures begin to show a negative again? Which imo shouldn't be too long now.
They don’t like that I say it as it is. Been saying since April going to be biggest recession since 30s. Only Talk Radio it appears wants to know. Even then that’s dwindled.

How many of the covid cult believers went to read drkellyvictory? I’ll guess none. Cultists are pathetic.

I was calling for lower than 1800 only a couple of weeks ago... It's actually a good thing gold's going down... as I've said several times it needs to consolidate its gains... and I've got my redundancy money to pile into mining shares... need a good entry point.
September is seasonally strong for gold/silver for several reasons... so I don't think it will last long.
Then you changed to no lower than 1930!

Apparently everyone knows when someone makes a serious point that they’re not making a serious point. We’re all mind readers. I didn’t know that.
