  1. do we still think there is a super injunction out ? and will it be lifted as this story gains traction ??
  2. I would be expecting FBI to get involved as this is all very much akin to FIFA (allegedly) Hope these politicians like orange boiler suits ? I can see the UK media getting more involved as this develops ( obviously injunction dependent )
  3. maybe i am naive but how the hell did they expect to get away with it ?
  4. rumours out there of a backbench revolt against the leadership of a certain NI party ...
  5. BelfastVI I have been thinking exactly the same the last few days. i can think of very few legitimate reasons why Cerebus would send a secretive payment to this solicitor in question. I would imagine that quote means FBI involvement...
  6. From what i read in the article i took it as one meeting that was kept top secret and one meeting that was in the press at the time (two in total). Therefore an emphasis on what was this secret meeting all about ? a certain blog is now running a new story referring to another deal in the offering tomorrow that involves a £30m assistance package to a firm with links to Robinson Jnr
  7. If there is a super injunction on this it hasn't done much as the news is out there if you look for it eg Wallace. Wallace has used parliamentary privilege to get the ball rolling on it. Infact I am a complete nobody and I believe that I know the details of 3 of the 7 super injunctions granted in NI. We really need people to keep running with this at it seems like the powers that be north and south want it to go away as it would be damaging to the leading party in Ni and the South. It is really important we get to the bottom of how these properties were sold off
  8. We only have ourselves collectively to blame for electing these dinosaurs time and again. Just as an example a poll in todays papers has support for gay marriage at 82% in under 34s and 68% overall yet despite the high levels of backing for gay marriage across the country, we go out and vote for the dinosaurs consistently opposed to legalising gay marriage. Plenty of NI politicians heavily involved in the expenses scandal and most simply get realected again in 2010 and 2015. Even today the DUP have learnt very little with Paisley Jnr and Jim Shannon claim more than any other of the 650 MPs in expenses. now in 2015 we have these explosive new NAMA claims. They really haven't learnt anything have they...... Lets hope this exposes all the money grabbing dinosaurs and ends a few careers (making way for some fresh blood with modern views)
  9. Someone or persons are clearly feeding Bryson the information. He must be fairly confident in its accuracy to go to war.... Assuming there is a gagging order in the North then someone wanting to see the news get out there is feeding Wallace the information. (Very little meaningful coverage in NI , a bit more in the South.) This has the potential to become a huge story North and South if someone was playing fast and loose with the NAMA NI folio, accepting under the counter payments to facilitate vulture investment funds, it's the tax-payer who ultimately takes the hit. And if that proves to be true is it the tip of the iceberg? If it transpires that people are feathering their own nests off the back of Southern Ireland austerity I'd imagine there will be hell to pay both sides of the border.
  10. Haha very good. Bryson is worth a read regarding this one issue if you can find what he posted (dont link directly to it ) I recognised his name as he was leaked the Haass drafts a couple of years ago. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/loyalist-jamie-bryson-insists-he-saw-haass-deal-drafts-29897261.html
  11. Irish News niggling away ... Concerns raised before over Gareth Robinson PR firm - The Irish News Meanwhile not a mention anywhere of any of this on the front page of todays Bel Tel
  12. http://www.irishnews.com/paywall/tsa/irishnews/irishnews/irishnews//news/2015/07/07/news/fixer-frank-had-close-ties-to-the-dup-171966/content.html Former Nama member Frank Cushnahan had close ties to the DUP - The Irish News http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/dup-leader-peter-robinson-unequivocally-denies-any-link-to-alleged-7m-nama-property-deal-31357025.html TUV's Allister 'amazed' police not involved in £7m Nama pay-off claims http://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/regional/nama-scandal-still-no-psni-investigation-1-6836506 NAMA corruption claims still not being investigated by PSNI as no one complained- yet police don't need complaint
  13. this for me seems like a massive scandal which potentially could end many careers although some politicians in NI seem to be able to survive just about anything and everything in the past so who knows!!!! i wouldn't at all be surprised if there was currently a gagging order in place in relation to this story and hence why news is coming from the South.... http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/seven-highprofile-people-in-northern-ireland-have-won-gagging-orders-but-we-cant-tell-you-who-they-are-30358664.html
  14. http://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/regional/nama-scandal-dup-deny-major-robinson-u-turn-months-before-cerberus-deal-1-6836489 "The DUP has denied that Peter Robinson radically changed his position on the sale of NAMA assets just months before the Cerberus deal – despite evidence that NAMA interpreted it as a significant policy change."
  15. Regarding the claims being made: Is this all indicative of how NAMA has been operating on behalf of us taxpayers North & South? How many more "facilitation fees" are out there, and more importantly what is the quantum, and who is greasing the wheels?
  16. I suggest checking out the front page of tomorrow's Irish News ;-)
  17. i only heard about this story this morning as was on holiday (boat and no internet ) . If Wallace is correct that money was earmarked for a NI politician (he is clearly being fed the information from somewhere....) then when you think hard about the male politician and who was in a position to influence matters I can only really think of two surnames in the frame......
  18. "data from Ulster University found house prices in south Belfast fell by almost 7% " (7% drop since last year) that really wouldn't tally with what I am seeing with the more expensive properties. what is available seems to be selling for a good bit more than 12 months ago. but perhaps a pick up in volume of flat sales and buy to let etc in eg 100-150k bringing the average down ? this combined by a lack of properties for sale in the higher price bracet eg 250k+ ? (currently only 44 properties in bt9 in this price bracket )
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-33405349 Mick Wallace 'not certain' of politician's identity
  20. An update on 4 properties for sale on my street in the last few weeks: SOLD-this large semi was asking around 500k and sold very quickly indeed ( WITHIN 3 WEEKS OF COMING FOR SALE SO I WILL ASSUME ASKING PRICE OR ABOVE) UNSOLD-this was asking around 600k ( was definately too high ) and still unsold ( I HEARD THAT THE OWNER THOUGHT IT WAS PRICED TOO HIGH BY THE EA AND HAS NOW REDUCED) SOLD AT FULL ASKING -one is asking about 38% more than what i think it sold for last year and got a lot of viewings. LOTS OF VIEWINGS BUT NO OFFERS - ONLY BEEN FOR SALE A WEEK. SOLD-one apartment is asking 36% more than what i believe the bank sold them for about 3 years ago and is only recently listed. SOLD ON THE DAY IT WAS LISTED FOR AN OFFER OF ASKING PRICE (WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A BIT HIGH!)
  21. Yes it was advertised just the same as any other property - EA website /propertypal etc I didnt actually realise it was a repo until i went to the open viewing and asked the EA. I did wonder as the asking price was good. (it was a 62.5% haircut on what they tried to ask in 2007) Most EAs will just tell you. Not that I have a lot of experience but I dont think its like they hide the fact. it would of become apparant shortly afterwards it was a repo as it was a small development and 4 more of the 7 properties became available a few days afterwards , all being sold by a NI bank. This was late 2011. I dont think you will see a good quality property go to auction often as they will sell it through the EA route.
  22. U can see them thru auction section of propertypal but also by going to websites Eg brg Gibson who have an auction very frequently , obk , lsh, wilsons etc. there's the odd one comes up in London in Alsopps auctions aswell. Quite often I image the deals are to be had thru estate agents too. I bought my own house (repo) that way
  23. From sale agreeds I think prices in South Belfast (family homes/good quality apartments for either downsizers or a young couple with good jobs) are up 20% from this time last year and about 30% from what you might of picked up from the banks say around 2011/12. Thats the ones that i have firm evidence for . From the auction sites there still does appear to be a lot of good value investment property - 30k houses you might rent for £400 a month etc all over the place. The one other market I am familiar with portstewart. Like BT9 there is a real lack of inventory and anything of quality is still selling massively lower than 2007 but at a significant premium to whenever you determine the bottom of the market to have been.
  24. there has definately been a big jump in momentum in BT9 recently. An update on 4 properties for sale on my street in the last few weeks: sold-this large semi was asking around 500k and sold very quickly indeed ( WITHIN 3 WEEKS OF COMING FOR SALE SO I WILL ASSUME ASKING PRICE OR ABOVE) unsold-this was asking around 600k ( was definately too high ) and still unsold ( I HEARD THAT THE OWNER THOUGHT IT WAS PRICED TOO HIGH BY THE EA AND HAS NOW REDUCED) unsold-one is asking about 38% more than what i think it sold for last year and got a lot of viewings. LOTS OF VIEWINGS BUT NO OFFERS - ONLY BEEN FOR SALE A WEEK. sold-one apartment is asking 36% more than what i believe the bank sold them for about 3 years ago and is only recently listed. SOLD ON THE DAY IT WAS LISTED FOR AN OFFER OF ASKING PRICE (WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A BIT HIGH!) I WILL UPDATE WHEN EITHER OF THE TWO SELL
  25. The Malone Park Gardens development on Balmoral Avenue selling well too Along with Haberton big money seems to be coming out the woodwork in bt9 !
