  • About Me
Let us be thankful for the fools; but for them the rest of us could not succeed.
  1. It's obvious to me that the £250 per hour is danger money http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2409506/Solicitor-facing-disciplinary-probe-dubious-deals-stabbed-death-park.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-22936650 http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/solicitor-told-plan-leave-partner-2046169 http://www.centralfifetimes.com/news/roundup/articles/2013/07/16/464452-woman-and-solicitor-threatened-with-death/ http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-solicitor-nick-marray-tells-4801502
  2. I think the tenant is actually in the garage roof space, add another 400 quid if he had access to the garage Maybe the kitchen is in the main house or they do actually have to wash up with swarfega in the garage sink
  3. How does the law work if I'm in the UK and live streaming from American TV?
  4. I remember the jubilations in the town just over 10 years ago when the money was going to roll in, http://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/news/local/163-400-million-new-dawn-1-1442318 Hastings at the time had a terrible crime rate, the worst in the South East, with contract killings not unusual, every rouge landlord set up shop in the town: http://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/news/local/i-am-not-a-slum-landlord-says-property-man-1-1443958 http://www.webspawner.com/users/marcelcrook/ I had dealings with the above with regards a Freehold purchase, the Solicitor I used stalled the process for 18 months, I later found out that he was from the same Masonic lodge as Sulc, although at the time Hastings Council did attempt to rid the town of the rubbish, I know from experience that these sort of people are still working within the town, it's not a place you'd want to buy a leasehold property, even with the leasehold reform act. http://justice4katrinataylor.blogspot.co.uk/ Quote: "Make no mistakes, we know who killed Katrina Taylor and we know Sussex Police is protecting a known Crime-Lord called Mark Slade (Sulc), and his gang of criminals who killed her" Would you want to live there? lol
  5. After living in Slough for 54 years and watching the Council destroy the town, I seriously would hope a higher power came in and sorted the corruption, back handers and flouting of planning laws. If it doesn't come from a higher power then it'll come from civil unrest, unfortunately I fear the latter. Every picture tells a story: http://www.slough.gov.uk/moderngov/mgMemberIndex.aspx?bcr=1 P.S. I have recently moved to a wonderful part of Wiltshire, I can't express the difference in quality of life!
  6. I understand that completely and also wouldn't comment if I hadn't known the facts regarding what fell into the HMO categories, my main point was that I felt certain councils weren't fulfilling their obligations regarding the issuing of HMO certs, from memory I believe ours was issued with conditions, 4 years later nothing had been chased up, it was one of the reasons why I sold the place... I think I did get off lightly, I'm happy to declare I sold it to a obnoxious BTL landlord
  7. I don't think I was: Under the changes in the Housing Act 2004, the following types of building are Houses or Flats in Multiple Occupation: 1.An entire house or flat which is let to three or more tenants who form two or more households, and who share a kitchen, bathroom or toilet 2.A house which has been converted into bedsits or other non self-contained accommodation, and which is let to three or more tenants who form two or more households, and who share kitchen, bathroom or toilet facilities 3.A converted house which contains one or more flats which are not wholly self contained (ie the flat does not contain within it a kitchen, bathroom or toilet) and which is occupied by three or more tenants who form two or more households 4.A building which is converted entirely into self contained flats, but the conversion did not meet the standards of the 1991 Building Regulations, and less than two thirds of the flats are owner occupied http://www.hastings.gov.uk/housing_tax_benefits/improving_homes/houses_multiple_occupation/what/
  8. ...and what work is that? I owned a property in a residential block of 5 flats in Hastings, we were contacted by Hastings Borough Council about 4 years ago and told we now needed a HMO licence, off the top of my head it cost us around £870 between the 5 flats, for that, Hastings Borough Council did precisely diddly squat. I happened to sell the flat in April of this year and had to have a Fire risk assessment and asbestos assessment carried out for the sale to complete, that was supposed to be done to acquire the HMO licence, it's only a personal opinion but it's very convenient for councils to impose fees when revenues are drying up on the pretence of doing it in the name of Health and Safety.
  9. http://www.vebra.com/strakers/property/24350930 This is just around the corner from me, now that's got to hurt, I should imagine the person who purchased it for 106k in 2007 is in some mental institution now! It's been on the market for months and months for £64k, they'd be lucky to get 56k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=39759250&sale=41826113&country=england
  10. Suppose cycling is out of the question? for the record, I don't have a TV licence, but thanks for the free I Player BBC
  11. I seem to remember the Co op/ Britannia setting up a shell company called Illius to offload many of their BTL repo's and keep them off their balance sheets, looks like a few of the Directors were connected to Britannia and Platform. http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/illius-properties http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/1042826/paul-medford http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/7234077/keith-alderson http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/1042832/philip-garlick
