Just stumbled on this site. Mention is made of banks, govenment economic policy, media manipulation etc etc etc............... But very few point to the aspirant society we live in. I have so many friends who have ridiculous mortgages that they don't need to have. Big detached homes with X number of rooms. In most cases we are talking about couples with no children, many who have no desire to have any children. The local builders respond to this by building these kind of homes.
