  1. Yes why not give them 25bn QE style like usual? What's changed?
  2. If they can't raise the £25 billion by the end of the year does this mean all account holders with balances of £85k+ are going to get the Cyprus levy treatment?
  3. Which we all know, translates to: it is being considered or is about to happen
  4. Does anyone know if any bankers, politicians or celebrities moved any cash out before the announcement?
  5. $10 billion Apple loss, Facebook shares up sharply - wonder what it is that Facebook are going to announce at 18:00 GMT?
  6. A few of the Ton Foil Hat forums are saying this is bad news. Thought I'd ask some of the more level headed people on here what this really means. Anyone? http://marketday.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/16/14478671-citigroups-ceo-vikram-pandit-steps-down?lite
  7. I've got a question Why isn't Adam Applegarth or Fred Goodwin in jail? Serious question
  8. Financial crisis: 25 people at the heart of the meltdown – where are they now? http://m.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/aug/06/financial-crisis-25-people-heart-meltdown?cat=business&type=article Oh looks who's there? Captain of industry.... Young Andy boy!
  9. Dick Fuld - Lehman Nick Hornby - Halifax Simon Fox - HMV Adam Applewhatever - Northern Rock Fred Goodwin - RBS I could go on Come on, it's not about talent, it's about schmoozing and knowing the right people. And this is only ONE of the reasons for the economic mess were in! As someone has said on here before. These people aren't captains of industry or entrepreneurs. Theyre super bureaucrats and that makes for a poor business person. So yes, 50% of the general population could easily do what they do and 25% could do it far better if given the chance. Industry is full of dead wood like this I'm afraid.
  10. How? HMV lost 98% of its share value during his 6 year tenure http://www.managementtoday.co.uk/features/1147991/simon-foxs-move-makes-trinity-mirror-investors-happy/
  11. Didn't Fubra recently win contracts to host RBS, O2, HBOS and Lloyds servers?
  12. HBOS down: - Sorry, you can't access Online Banking right now We're doing essential maintenance on the site. Please try again later.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me if that's proved to be the case. All the regulars on here worked out long ago that the whole thing is corrupt to the core
  14. I wonder if since making 1000+ IT staff redundant and then outsourcing it has meant that a change has been deployed to their system utterly breaking everything. And now, no one if left that knows how to fix it? Hence it being a 2 hour glitch then an overnight glitch, now Monday at the earliest. What's the betting that come Monday it's not fixed?
  15. If its not fixed by today, surely Natwest is going to go into complete meltdown? I remember BlackBerry not long ago being in a similar position and that took quite a while to resolve. They weren't a bank though so this could be very interesting indeed!
  16. To me, this is a sign that they're running out of things to sell - literally scraping the barrel with this one. Yet, they seem to have found a right thicko to buy it! Some private equity firm called EQT Why on earth, after the meteoric rise of the smartphone, would anyone buy a ridiculously overpriced and utterly pre-historic phone?
  17. So if the now inevitable happens and the ECB try to bailout Spain (is that the only possible outcome now?) then does all that money cause global inflation? Or is it not that simple?
  18. 6.22% - that's past the 6% point of no return isn't it? (or is it 7%?) So that means a bailout is a certainty and Spain is too big to bailout. Is that right?
  19. The sooner Greece defaults and replaces the Euro with Facebook Credits the better
