Information based on hearsay and anecdotes is not information.
This is a sub-form for made up s*t.
MODS ?
Just because you don’t like what someone is saying, it doesn’t make it wrong.
Personally, I like opposing opinions on forums like this. I think it creates interesting debate.

Nice that the announcement came after a weekend of "planned" downtime for Coop online banking. Looks like it might be time to start looking for a new bank. Any ethical banks out there?
Ethical banks lol!

Yes, does seem like a bizarre merger, but what do I know.

My prediction:
A grey haired member of the establishment will stand up and talk for 1.5 hours.
After which his every word will be poured over by a fawning media who will report on his tiny fiddling with the tax and benefit systems as it there were as significant as the development of a new political system.
Shortly afterward, a number of top accounting and tax bods will discover ample new loopholes for their extremely wealthy clients to use.
12 months later the average UK worker will be marginally poorer. The 1% will be considerably richer.
Remember kids - you read it here first!
Sounds about right

One of the IT guys at work is the most pedantic "jobs worth" I have ever met - and gets paid a fortune for pressing ctrl-alt-delete, and never stops telling you how clever he is and how dumb everyone else is.
His latest wheeze is to replace all the white network patch-cables running to-and-from the switching cabinets to colour-coded ones - yellow ones for computer data, and blue for the phones. This is costing a small fortune for the new leads, and his overtime of course...!
I have to fix faults on my machines on the shop-floor - and whenever I suspect a network issue, I take great delight using the wrong colour leads to diagnose the problem before I call him down and watch that vein in his temple pulsate..!
Childish of me I know...

Oh god they are the worst!
Used to work with a team leader for a small dev team - if he didn't come up with the idea for the code or it was code from before his time it was automatically 'rubbish' and written by idiots.
He's since moved on to another company to manage an even bigger team of 12 devs. God help them!

Ok, going to sit on cash because I need to buy in next 6 months

Great advice, thanks everyone. Seems to me they're not going to stop QE and that interest rates aren't going to rise

I wish I had a crystal ball because everything has seemed so obvious in hindsight

Gold, shares, bonds, where do I go? Or do I stay in cash?
-
Yeah house prices keep rising while I'm saving and definitely don't want to use it on a car or tv and now this. A falling pound!
-
For years now I've been saving and saving and saving for a house - all cash.
Now all I see is the plummeting pound!
Looking for advice, do I hold on and keep saving in cash until I can buy my house or what? What is the alternative? I'm so confused

Good point!
This makes absolutely no sense - how can they afford these bonuses?
