  1. Apologies if this is a re-post, or the interview was a repeat, I caught it late last night and thought it was very interesting. To quote Jim Rogers.. "Why would I put my money in the US or the UK, they are bankrupt" (or similar).. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/default.stm Edit: Full program on iPlayer: Hardtalk - Jim Rogers
  2. I actually quite liked Jamie Waller on TV - he seemed to have his head screwed on.
  3. To the OP... just refer to them as 'villas' problem solved.
  4. It's a website that hooks up joe public so they can lend or borrow money from each other, cutting out a bank.
  5. If you want to, then go ahead. There can't be much more advice given. If you have £x tied up in investments that can be released in X months, and you need a deposit for a house, then borrow £x. Pay off loan when your investments mature. Pretty simple. When you buy is your choice of course.
  6. Apologies if this has been said already, I haven't read the entire thread... Is it me, or has there been a distinct lack of ramping on the RM figures? Maybe the media tide has turned?
  7. No. There would be a period of zero posting as people got off the floor & back onto their chairs.
  8. This 27.2% drop. Over what period of time is it? The news seems to be that it's in 1 month, which I presume is totally wrong.
  9. Yep - twas on the radio earlier, spokesman from RAC taking about pot holes etc.
  10. "you're" <need an 'ironic' emoticon> To the OP.... seriously, if this isn't a wind up, simply call the EA and ask for clarification.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe QE was removed via interest rates.
  12. The aerial pic was before the landslide (apparently), although it looks like there had been some sort or a previous smaller slide.
  13. That B&W photo looks weird, looks like her face has been mirrored in photoshop
  14. Over a decade ago I was on the dole due to my employer going into liquidation. It felt soooo good when I 'signed off'. It was a strange situation, I was expecting to go through mountains of paperwork, but it was a simple "OK, no problem' and I walked out - I felt like a free man!! Enjoy it.
  15. Seriously? - Bwwaahahahhah. Ah, go on, you've gotta post a pic of your baking efforts.
  16. It's a side issue to the Beeb. Many people are more interested if their local roads will be gritted or not during this massive unprecedented dump of arctic snow we're currently suffering. Apparently some parts of one county have had to endure 1cm of wet snow.
  17. I've seen Rory Stewart on TV interviews a few times discussing Afghanistan. I remember because it was the first time that I'd listened to someone who really knew what they were talking about and wasn't trying to score political points.
  18. Well the MSM are exploding with Bear stories this morning, there's just too many to read. The front page of The Times sums it up.
