  1. I just wanted to point out that the quote you used to show the level of VC trade seems to be at odds with the way the world is set out. I thought that it was funny that they should be the 223rd largest exporter out of 195 countries (well I thought it was funny).
  2. It was always a risk Dave......... It is the government who currently have their collective heads in the sand.... from day one they have insisted that they get the benefits without the responsibilities..... children that they are. My fear is that this can kicking is delaying the point of realisation... and by then it will be too late, too late for them to do anything about it and too late for the public to realise what has befallen them.
  3. Oh common now..... perhaps you have a nefarious VI on this..... Or... you could be hiding something....... either way, you come across as a shifty type to me.....
  4. ????????? "There are 195 countries in the world today. This total comprises 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations and 2 countries that are non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine." ??????? It is going some to be the 223rd largest exporter in the world...... out of 195 countries!!!!!!
  5. You have to laugh here..... the furryner hunters return. Sounds like these leavers are getting worried and desperate again.
  6. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/foreign-trade/india-eu-fta-negotiations-likely-to-resume-soon/articleshow/63467513.cms "Launched in June 2007, the negotiations for the proposed BTIA have witnessed many hurdles with both sides having major differences on key issues like intellectual property rights, duty cut in automobile and spirits, and liberal visa regime. The two sides have to iron out differences related to movement of professionals. Besides demanding significant duty cuts in automobiles, the EU wants tax reduction on wines, spirits and dairy products, and a strong intellectual property On the other hand, India is asking it be granted data secure nation status by the EU. The country is among the nations not considered as data secure by the EU. The matter is crucial as it will have a bearing on Indian IT companies wanting market access. " Sounds like the EU are in the process of tackling this complex process. I think it has been mentioned that these types of deals take many years to complete. Luckily you have Mr Fox who can pull these deals of of his ar5e in minutes.
  7. You may have a point re India not being as blatant as the Chinese. I am simply relaying the fact that the 'failed fta' with India was over adherence to IP rights. Your personal regard and our historic ties aside, it is difficult to argue a case for an agreement without IP being respected contractually. That would be gross negligence.
  8. Fair observations. However, there will be more clarity when all the non viable options have been jettisoned. It then becomes a case of presenting to the people what the remaining workable options are. We are nearing that point. As regards how the referendum question is phrased, I'd suggest that, again, two options are presented stay and leave, this time leave will be much better defined, as previously it was all things to all men. If remain lose this next time around I think it will put the issue to bed for another generation.
  9. Sorry I thought you where one of those parading that we could do an FTA deal with China and India .... and continue to mock the EU for not stopping them stealing our ideas (its called theft BTW)... and for their apparent failure to do a FTA with China and India (where you seem to gloss over the fact that they won't do one because of the very IP rights issues you seem to have and issue with!!!....massive contradiction......odd)....and implying we could do better ... just how my friend? Perhaps China and India will take pity on us when we are all out on our lonesome....... you are living in a dreamers paradise with a whole lot of logic failure thrown in.
  10. That makes total sense. People deserve to vote on..... what they will get ....vs .....what they currently have. It makes sense.
  11. I never posted a link to Politico? - I don't read that Leave Lovin Comic.... unless accidentally embedded as a quote from someone else. Nevertheless... I have read the article and it sounds like there is a discussion and negotiation taking place. There are two sides to this, the southern rim countries where typically first entry takes place and the countries where later allocation is to take place. It is a real and significant problem. The EU front line countries are taking the brunt and a balanced solution has to be found between allowing asylum seekers free access and restricting their entry by in effect putting a resistor in place to them getting to the destination of their choice. If you remember, the debacle originated by the actions of the US and the UK and its WMD involvement in Iraq and the troubles that followed in the destabilising aftermath. The issues are out on the table, they are being negotiated and there won't be an agreement until and unless the two sides agree. How else you you suggest they deal with an issue that WE started??? Perhaps they should demand compensation from us!!!!! Or better still send them all directly to us for us to process....
  12. from the man who wanted to sign an FTA with China and India......that excludes IP rights.......... homework for me......
  13. Most property investors are actually from outside the EU (mainly China and Russia). We could have easily have banned them ..... the problem is that the PTB (Labour and Cons) want HPI...... forever! It was and still is a drug that they cannot quit... Brexit or no Brexit.
  14. 1st point taken. I agree with your last statement 100%. Edit.. i thought you said hate....not have. I believe that whatever level of health care system you have.... demand will always outstrip supply for the very reason that the consequence of an efficient health care system is that it creates lots of old people ..... and old people place very high demands on any system.
  15. Absolutely...... as businesses start to suffer... and the pressure starts to build on our government to 'strike trade deals'..... we will just accept whatever is on offer...... but, but. but...... I am sure that those that voted for Brexit knew that they where voting for all our IP to be stolen.... and they are happy for that to happen...... you have to laugh.
  16. So we don't sign an FTA with China and India - great...... let the Leavers withdraw from parading that as our 'great saviours'..... because they clearly are not. If you think the NHS is broken here..... you need to see what is happening in the good old US of A with regard to health care. The options are, hope you don't get ill, pay through the nose for insurance, sell your house, accept that you will go untreated. I know you are almost past caring.... but surely these things are important.
  17. ....because India and China won't do it for the EU without the exclusion of the IP clauses.... the EU being in a position of strength.... we will be in a weak and desperate position....... is that a good enough reason to think it highly improbable? I appreciate your point about our short term'ism... but you cannot put that into the same bag as legitimising the theft of our IP. Lets also look at a FTA with the USA..... what possible strings might be attached to that I wonder..... the NHS does look ripe for wholesale privatisation..... They do say there's no such thing as a free lunch.... we are about to find that out the hard way.
  18. Not just China... India insist on the same deal.... IP rights are excluded..... In other words.... sanctioned theft of all the hard work and money we have poured into our R&D...... we would be giving away any trading advantages we have with the rest of the world ..... in a few short years China and India would be ripping off our offerings and sell them through out the world for a fraction of the cost that we can produce them. We would be giving away our family silver for the promise of a couple of percentile GDP increase in the very short term.... it is bonkers..... but sadly, widely repeated on here as a justification for leaving the customs union.... it plain daft and plain dangerous.
  19. Absolutely it is - and we have leavers wanting the UK to sign an FTA with China who insist on excluding IP rights ...... total dreamers and numpties........ couldn't find a more clueless lot.
  20. And you still think we can do better......... We can't manage our way out of a paper bag at the moment...... you are a dreamer...... Plus it just reinforces my point... China is happy and willing to steal whatever they can....... and you want to legitimise it in a binding agreement...... you are so funny.
  21. 1 - Yes we are few on here and yes the referendum was lost. I really and honestly have come to terms with that. It is done and dusted - what I do despair at is those ignorant enough to think we can get free trade deals where the EU have 'failed'. It is so easy for Leavers to trot out those 'we can do deals with China and India' mem's to justify that Brexit will be Ok. Frankly you and others seem to be clueless about the difficulties and the consequences of what you are saying. Your simplification does not translate to real life reality. 2 - We shall have to wait to see who the losers are, however, Brexit is shaping up nicely to be a loser for all. The fact that I point out the issues regarding signing trade deals with India and China and the issues with IP rights involved ...... and you have the cheek to call me desperate???? To me it sounds like you are all closed ears to any potential problems. It makes you look like the desperate one....desperate to justify Brexit at any cost. That does not fill me with any confidence in your ability to look at these issues logically. 3 - Exporting our intellectual property rights (not property rights) is very different to having them stolen by China and India - I do hope that you can see this and realise the significance of why the EU has not yet signed trade deals with China and India (the protection of our Ip is taken seriously by the EU). Sadly this point is lost on some leavers who think that EU have 'failed' with China and India where on the other hand we can 'waltz in' and sign a deal ..... without acknowledging the real and significant blocking issues involved.
