  1. I'm off too! At least I'm a bear with enough grace to admit that he has been beaten! I shall delete the HPC link from my favourites and just get on with my life now. F#ck houses - their are more important things in life!
  2. I've had it with this website! So what? - I've been denied a house by boomers and I'll just have to learn to accept it. There isn't going to be any crash! To think of the hours of my life I have wasted monitoring this website and NOTHING has happended! I'm just going to enjoy life from now on and get used to the fact I've been priced out. Au revoir mes amies
  3. I used to believe, like you, that we would follow our American cousins. However, month after month has passed and there is little evidence that we will follow the Yanks even though our PM seems to be permanently "inside" (and I mean this literally - I bet he gave him one when Cherie was sleeping at Camp David) the president it doesn't seem that our economies are linked in anyway whatsoever!
  4. Nothing is going to happen - there will be no crash! I really do think the UK will escape this one. It feels horrible to be disenfranchised. My wife and I earn £50 k per year and we live in Coventry - we are probably some of the best paid people in the city. Even that is not enough to buy us more than a terraced house in a sink neighbourhood! We always said that we would by a house before we had children because we wanted to give them stability. Now we are resigned to the fact that we will never be able to own our own home - all because of baby boomer greed! We now agree that we will rent and have kids (and risk being evicted at three months notice by the LL!) We will be a generation of renters whilst our parents will be the last generation of OO's. I love my parents but as far as I'm concerned their generation deserve to piss into plastic bags and have long lingering deaths for the way they have selfishly raped and disenfranchised their children! YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.
  5. Help me father for I am losing my faith in HPC. I have been been waiting patiently for years waiting for a correction that has never happened. I got excited when the US crash started because I naively believed that the UK was "bumming" the US and that are economies were so similar. It would now appear that the UK is immune from the US HPC. I think this is mainly due to the British irrational obsession at a "house at all costs." The British would encourage their parents to sell their vital organs if it mean that they could get a foot hold on the "housing ladder." Even if a Brit has to buy a rat infested over priced two up two down on a mortgage of 20 times salary! It is my assessment that there is no hope for the British housing market. It will continur to rise forever! At social functions now I just lie and say that I'm a home owner. But the sad fact is that the majority of 20 and 30 sometings of this country will never own their own home. Ok so we have been sh#gged up the **** buy our own parents - baby boomers, their's nothing we can do about it. Human beings are an animal and ALL animal are inherantly selfish in nature. I have come to the conclusion - I will have to emigrate to a normal country where the property obsession is not so important. I hate to leave my country but there is nothing for me here anymore.
  6. And while were at it, why not privatise the polce! When offenders get arrested they can chose which company will arrest them! I also heard the other day that the government wants to privatise the HM Coast Guard! I sh#t you not!
  7. I agree we now have a government that is now prepared to jeapodise the safety of it's citizens in order to save a few quid!
  8. Intersting story. I'm a serving proabtion officer and I think the public should be VERY VERY scared about this. Probation Officer's currently train for two years in how to manage violent offenders. If the governemnt gets its own way in a couple of years time any man and his dog will be able to supervise the local rapist or serial street robber. This is the government's latest wheeze in order to balance the books after wasting billions of pounds of our hard earned money on the Iraq war! Furthermore, there is a fundamental principal of ethics here. Do we really want private companies to be responsible for our criminal justice system? What other modern western country has a privatised police force or probation service? At the moment I have to make impartial and strategic decisions whether to recall offenders to prison based on two years of intensive training. I also make impartial risk assessments to the Courts and proposals on how the courts should sentence offenders. If our service was privatised then you would lose this independance and decisions to recall or propose custody would be made based on the financial reasons of the company rather than objective risk assessment. I think that the government has tried to keep this secret from the general public and there is a real danger of this becoming law. The Act will also see the abolition of Probation Boards which are made up of magistrates, judges, and other agencies - all power will be placed in the centre thus removing local accountability. Needless to say most judges and magistrates are against this plan and are fearful of losing the important independant voice of the National ProBation Service that has helped them to reach sentencing decisions for decades. The governemtn in this country wants to privatise everything. Will the police service be next? Be afraid - be very afraid!
  9. OK, so I had a few scotches tonight but does anybody else think that Allsop is worth a scooby-doo?
  10. As an ardent bear I'm afraid I have to concede that the market in the UK will never crash. Why? Because British people have an irrational belief in that owning a property id the most important thing in life. Therefore if IR's rise to 12 per cent brainwashed FTB's well get their parents to sell their kidney's in order to by a squalid rat infested over-priced shoebox at 20 times their annual salary! I am sadly now content to rent for the rest of my life - there is no chance of FTB's getting on the "housing ladder" now in this country. But hey, why the stigma in renting. My wife and I can afford two tropical holidays a year we drive a new car and we don't go without! Come on Britain get real - owning a home is no the be-all and end-all. I just lie at social functions and pretend I'm a home owner. Anyway. I'm off to a country that's not so home-owner obsessed as soon as I can!
  11. LONDON, LONDON, LONDON how completely LONDONCENTRIC we are all becoming! You will find that in other parts of this realm house prices are stagnating and decreasing! London is only being temporarily held up by the large city bonuses of dec 2006. Fortunately 99.9 per cent of the capitals population are not paid £30 million per year and this will soon die out as the SM dives. 0.01 per cent of the capitals population can not drive HPI forever! OK Hometrack shows that London falts went up 2 per cent in Feb. Take out London and the SE and you will see a completely different picture. HPC 2 will be different from HPC 1 in that the crash will start from the provinces and the cancer wills spread to the smoke. You know Londinium doesn't always dictate the way the market will go!
