  1. Disagree but whatever. Just judging by regular chat and a growing discontent from people I talk to. Humza is a very unlikeable chap and that combined with the alleged serious failures of Sturgeon’s family connections, NHS, ferries etc it’s all downhill from here. Hope so because indie is a pipe dream without serious policy and they’ve never been able answer the questions on economy etc.
  2. It’s fine. Halifax have a heavy Zone 3 presence that skew their results.
  3. Not what I’m seeing on the ground but whatever. From what I hear they are done and dusted now. Probably the most racist place in the world and they’ve just voted in a minority leader who is known for failure in post as well as angry outbursts which turn neutrals off when he’s in the public eye. Like I said they are completely done now. Missed any opportunity they ever had through their own incompetence and failure to sell indie dream to possible converts (no explanation of currency, central bank, rejoining EU etc.)
  4. Knife edge on general polling. As with the actual referendum the silent majority are way beyond pissed off with being captured into the nonsense. SNP have blown it completely. Labour will likely win several seats next year. Bunch of loonies not in touch with general population and also incompetent. Health, transport, drugs, education all a disaster under their watch.
  5. That’s pre trans nonsense thinking. 30k and counting lost from the party. Absolutely shocking nonsense from the gayest parliament in Western Europe. The most out of touch loonies from mainstream Scottish thinking. It’s a bust for these idiots.
  6. Timed because head of Scottish police also recently announced he was leaving. This should have been investigated a long time ago. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are also brought into the situation at some point. Lots of suggestions he’d been bought by the SNP leadership before. Absolute disgrace the whole leadership group. SNP are done now and independence argument is gone.
  7. I’m in Z3 and it has flat lined for the last 8 years. Went mental up until 2015 on cheap money but suddenly stopped and if anything dropped a touch in covid. Absolutely nothing selling last 3 years without markdowns. Mexican standoff continues for now. By summer it will be carnage. Local EA even sending us begging emails asking us to oppose landlord rules because it will increase our rent. Desperate *******.
  8. Alternatively could mean sellers have reached the acceptance stage of grief and are taking lower offers.
  9. How is an annual fall referred to in the report as slowing growth? That sounds like Lizard people double talk to me.
  10. Easily triggered 😀 Fishing was excellent today. Seriously though, you are the mental one. I said it was a Tory tax steal because it’s yet another example of their creeping increases on the middle classes. Absolutely nothing to do with stay at home parents. It’s an unfair, ill thought out nonsense and your anti parent rant is further negative nonsense. You clearly have an agenda against parents and families which would be a bit sad if it wasn’t actually just a bit weird and creepy.
  11. You wouldn’t get it because you are a bleeding heart liberal. Probably short of a bob or two and blame everything on the evil conservatives. Universal benefits were quite rightfully brought in by Winston and others to protect the most vulnerable in society. Not to let a bunch of lazy benefit leeching scum live their lives on my taxes. There’s something like 1m vacancies in the UK job market which could easily be filled by benefit claimants but they refuse to work because idiots won’t force them to. Meanwhile our tax burden grows.
  12. No, just on the wind up reeling in liberal twits like you.
  13. How on earth is £50k in London comparable with £50k in say Scotland or Wales where cost of living is much cheaper? Anyway your entire argument is a moot point. CB was introduced and paid out as a universal benefit (pretty much the only benefit that higher rate tax payers ever received) and was paid out to our parents, grandparents etc. This was a tax steal by Gidiot plain and simple and has been made worse by subsequent chancellors. I pay way more tax than any previous generation and I’m not happy. This lot of tories are non conservative. Everyone in the country has access to education and routes to better themselves. Not up to me to pay more to make the feckless more comfortable. Let them starve at food banks for all I care.
  14. £60k is the point you get zero. It’s a taper from £50k to £60k. If you’ve been getting CB, earning over £50k and not been filling out self assessment then you’d best make plans for how you’ll pay it back. HMRC will catch up with you at some point.
  15. It’s like Gordon Brown and Mervyn King ass licking the head of RBS before he brought it to its knees. These blue sky thinkers just desperately want to believe all is rosy. Idiots.
  16. Dude my oil shares are up over 150% in 1/1/2 years. 8% is my dividend return I am looking for after a decent capital gain.
  17. Well if you are simple enough to invest in a ftse tracker then you deserve it. It takes some research and skill and some costly mistakes but you need to invest in specific shares and industries within the ftse. Follow trends and cycles, search for good dividend and capital growth possibilities based on sound financials. Reinvest dividends, add capital and watch it grow. Ride out ups and downs but also be ready to sell up the odd dog and reinvest in something better. This isn’t a HODL game like the BTC idiots. It’s a long term investment strategy that needs to be managed closely.
  18. You are the gift that keeps on giving. There will always be someone else on the street that has to move and just gets the fact that the market has changed. When these idiots finally re-list their properties it will be at a lower price point and they will then have to entertain below asking offers at the new lower price. Enjoy watching your Z3 investment drop!!!
  19. Actually October was the big recent low. I wanted to invest more at that point but didn’t have the cash balance then. There was another smaller dip in January that was also a good entry point. I just added to my portfolio yesterday and think it’s a good long term entry point. I’m talking 5-10 years by the way.
  20. To be fair I wasn’t even aware of it until I hit it last year. That was a dark day. My fault for not being across the ridiculous tax rules the UK has going on. The other tax bands like 40% and loss of child benefits at £50k have been trawling in millions of extra tax payers. This government are a disgrace when it comes to trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the very middle class, aspiring voters they are meant to represent. These bands were chosen 10-15 years ago for a fiscal reason and not to increase them in line with inflation has been theft.
  21. Don’t be silly. This government doesn’t move tax bands up the way. That way the proles don’t realise they are being shafted. The 60% tax trap at £100k is a classic example.
  22. Snap. Picked up some seriously great capital gains after covid and those are now paying around 7%-8% dividends which should increase over next few years. Even a mild capital gain on those builds up overall annual gains I’m happy with.
  23. For sure, the entire financial ecosystem has to come to terms with the new normal (which is just the historical normal) rather than 0.5% IR. Biggest losers are clearly the over indebted and idiots who didn’t hedge risk. Going to be a wild ride next 2-3 years. This shit is just starting…
  24. I think some on here need to do a bit more research before predicting the end of the world. SVB were a complete basket case in the banking world and 95% of the banking industry are completely free of their nonsense business plan. Could be a bit of contagion with a couple more local banks in US but it’s a limited situation. Certainly not a black swan. Biggest issue is anyone even remotely connected to fintech and crypto could be seriously messed up. These guys were the key lender for them and there will be some serious pain in that area.
