  1. I happen to work for a major film studio as a number cruncher... think the dark knight. The majority of large studios should weather the comming storm, it's the smaller independant producers that will get stuffed as they don't have much content to exploit. It is true that DVD has been a real money spinner over the last 10 years or so.... but it's been on a downward trend in most countries for the last 3-4 years so the studios have tried to look into other ways of exploiting the product digital downloads, consumer products, games and whopping TV deals (most are locked in over a number of years and are on very favourable terms :-) ) etc and it's working. Mind you Males 14-30 are the key target for DVD and at present seem to be hitting the shops in force for the latest movie: IronMan, Hulk, Indian Jones Changing of stragtegy is key, we will see alot more sequels, sucessful book being adapted, TV shows adapted to film and a significant reduction in production budgets for all but the EVENT movie Harry Potter, Batman, Spiderman etc. Actors pay has already been cut, at least for the stars it has, the bread and butter supporting cast are on the breadline and they always will be as there is never enough work going on to keep them fully employed all year. 2. Afternoon fellow HPC Jedi's I've been tracking the increase in properties listed in Wimbledon since the begining of Feb on Rightmove. Check out the almost 100% increase in listings since the beginning of Feb to Now, the great slowdown (crash must be round the corner) 1st of Feb 2007 24th of May 2007 All properties for sale SW19 268 501 3 bed properties for sale SW19 130 216 4 Bed properties for sale SW19 68 107 The increase has been steady over the last couple of months, with very little being shifted quickly, the street where i live there is currently 4 houses for sale, they have been on the market since Jan 2007, no change in prices yet though if anything the average price has been increasing!!!! I know there have been loads of posts about increases etc, but this is an area of prime london which if you belive the EA's should be shifting super fast. laters Taxed to Death
  3. Hello all I've been surfing HPC for a while now and have finally decided to take the plunge! I have a questions on tie in periods for fixed mortgages, many home buyers are choosing to fix their mortgages at a lower rate for 2-5 years, what happens when the fixed period is up? tradionally how long would you have to pay the mortgage providers standard variable rate or could you be a rate tart and fix again without suffering massive exit fees. taxed to death!
