  1. Annoyingly, you cant link to it directly, but click on ‘Probabilities’ on the left hand side of my link above
  2. 96.6% chance of no change! However, next meeting they are going up and most likely staying there for the next three meetings. https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html
  3. That all depends on your own personal circumstances and we don’t know the demographics of the trial either (other than the two locations).
  4. Ohhhh.. I just re-read it. It’s the all bills inclusive that’s only available to 1-3 months
  5. How the hell does that even work if you decide no bills included? Most utilities are on 12 month contracts surely?
  6. The cynic and logic in me thinks the reason for having such juxtaposed locations for this trial is to see if those in East Finchley move somewhere cheaper. After all, that’s the decision those people who work have to make.
  7. Incidentally, I’m sure I read it somewhere that NS&I actually visit you to tell you if you’ve had the £1m win.
  8. LOL. Same here. Was visiting my dad last weekend when my video doorbell app rang on my phone which I always ignore if I’m not expecting visitors/deliveries.... Dad - aren’t you gonna answer that? Me - Nah, it’s probably for upstairs Dad - it might be the guy from Premium Bonds Me - (doing the dates maths in my head - frantically trying to answer video doorbell app...... it was upstairs takeaway - me, wounded) :’(
  9. What if you said “I’m drawing this cash out because I have no faith in the banks anymore and have decided to keep my cash under the mattress”?
  10. Two observations. The actions of these illegal immigrants play right into the hands of the extreme right wing. Why are they being put up in a central London hotel, there must be cheaper hotels outside of central London?
  11. I’m interested in the weekly payments in many of them adverts. I understand back in the day everyone was paid weekly and not monthly, but is that weekly repayment to the house builder I wonder? i.e. no banks/mortgage involved?
  12. I would. However, if savings rates were anything like REAL inflation + 2% (so 10% - 12%) I’d probably choose savings account instead.
  13. I wasn’t gonna post this, but seeing as you have, I’ll share my winnings to date so far. Jan £250 Feb £200 March £250 April £0 May £150 June £1,300 !! just about keeping up with inflation 🤣 My £1,300 win this month was 6 bonds, one of which was £1,000. I have max Premium Bonds allowed. I moved all my ISA out of zero interest accounts into Premium Bonds about 5 years ago.
  14. Mumsnet posts like this really boil my p1ss!! So what if the value has gone down? They’ve been living there and paying mortgage but could have easily been paying rent if they hadn’t bought.
  15. Indeed! It’s getting on for 60-70 years old and that’s gonna require some maintenance over the next few years.
  16. Ahhh… I missed that bit. Ok, I take it back, given current energy prices, that’s not a bad deal however, like you say service charge could go massively high and what can you do but pay it or sell?
  17. I hadn’t realised that South West was more expensive than Greater London 😲 (in 1993)
  18. How on earth can they justify a £318 monthly service charge for that 1 bed flat! Money for old rope!
  19. OMG! The steaks thing!!I was in my Tesco Metro a few months ago when a clearly unfortunate soul completely cleared the whole fridge of steaks into his bag and calmly walked out like it was nothing! Security did their best but he was gone. When I spoke with the security guy he just said they go round all the restaurants to flog them.
  20. How prophetic!! I was just reading this as “Down Down” by Status Quo came on my smart speaker 😆
  21. Bamboo is just as invasive! My next door neighbour (sadly deceased now) planted this on our party garden fence 15 years ago. 10 years later, I had bamboo growing up through the middle of my prize lawn. I had to dig right down along the fence to cut all the roots leading into my garden. Thank god the new neighbours wanted rid of the bamboo and between the pair of us we dug it all out on both sides of the fence. Parts of it still pop up even now!!
  22. So, you pay 80% of the house price and Homewise ‘lend’ you the other 20%. Then, when you pop your clogs, Homewise get all of the house. LOL! 😂
  23. I can tell you house prices and computers have gone in opposite directions since the 90’s. I bought my first PC complete with Windows 95, Intel Pentium 75MHz, 4MB Ram and 850MB hard disk for £995 (+ VAT) in 1995. Equivalent today would cost £400, if that, not even factoring inflation! I’m sure I don’t need to tell you what happened to house prices between now and then. 😉
  24. “150 dwellings, 45 of which will be affordable” This cracks me up every time. So what are the other 105 dwellings if not unaffordable? 🤣
