Yorkshire Golden Triangle - Harrogate & Around
strbear replied to strbear's topic in England - Yorkshire & Humberside
Rachel There are a host of nice villages around there - its just north east of Leeds and south east of Harrogate - the main place is Wetherby (market town) but to be honest you could be anywhere up to 20 miles away and still have a 30 min or less commute - further North (up the A1M) is cheaper and within 20 minutes the prices fall away significantly - also going South East (towards Selby) prices fall away sharply - but if you want to live in the nice places its very expensive since all the firms moved up here If you have lots of money then Clifford is nice, try Collingham or Harwood, to the north is Spofforth. Enjoy SB -

Yorkshire Golden Triangle - Harrogate & Around
strbear replied to strbear's topic in England - Yorkshire & Humberside
Thats my experience when looking though houseprices.co.uk - the houses here have gone through the roof in about 5 years BUT to my mind the fundamentals here REALLY REALLY don't support the prices. A friend of mine paid 60K for his place in 2000 - its now £300K - oh and its a 3 bed semi. To my mind thats an average house - the average salary here is 26K so thats 12 times income. Thanks for the info SB -
Balanced article in the WSJ re technical analysis and the top - is it a Cat 2 storm or Cat 5 Hurricane? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1185753240...e_whats_news_us SB

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is the really important bit of news today http://www.ft.com/cms/s/cc25609c-3c10-11dc...00779fd2ac.html This is the first time the credit crunch is changing the commercial environment and I think thats important - DJIA will drop away on opening as fears for the crdit crunch increase - it could still be a black friday - shoot away SB

Markets Spooked Today
strbear replied to dude wheres my house's topic in House prices and the economy
If you want to see whats causing the credit wobble there is a great page in the WSJ at http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/doc...l0707-sort.html Its a growing list of tremors - question is will the list continue growing? Odds on I'd say SB -
Try this flat in Leeds then - it was £415K in Aug 06 and now its . . . . . . . . . . . http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-161...=1&tr_t=buy thats right £750K or 80% in 12 months . . . . . nice work if you can get it SB
-
DJIA down 2.14% - to see if we'll get a black friday we need to see what happens in the next 3 hours - if the line keeps going down at 45 degress then you may get your wish but if it levels its just another adjustment . . . . . . See you here at 8:45 to see what tomorrow holds SB
