Please put the strawman away. I think that the forum is "House prices and the economy"; I take that to mean our economy. As far as I can see, our economy is being stripped of money to prolong a war that the Ukraine will lose, after many more will have been killed than need be. Crikey, that was quick. Straight to the Hitler/Nazi analogy! That normally takes a few more exchanges. I think that the time lines involved between now and the the end of the USSR are slightly less than those involved between WW2 and the Roman Empire, don't you? Kind of well within living memory type stuff. Nice try though! I say we leave them to it and let the EU (which we had the good sense to leave) sweat it out....yo never know, they may even start to pay their way militarily! Why the hell we are spending like drunk sailors to defend their back yard is beyond me. The list of issues more important to UK citizens has to run into the dozens before we get to the impact of a former USSR civil war. NHS waiting lists, Homelessness, Channel Boats, Education, Policing, even pot holes!

Its a civil war between two ex members of the USSR, our former cold war enemy. We should let them get on with it...perhaps that's the thinking behind these ridiculous sums of money being heaped upon the Ukraine.
