  1. China to limit abortions for ‘non-medical purposes’ https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/sep/27/china-to-limit-abortions-for-non-medical-purposes Next stop, baby farms, guaranteed.
  2. No coverage at all: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-57623110 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-57560664 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56469687 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56466291
  3. Real question for @Orb - how much does it cost to get an HGV license these days? I've a mate who got one to drive an imported bus, but his wife said it was too expensive for her to get one as well (she might just be using that as an excuse). IMO if it costs a bundle to get a license it makes sense for UK gov to subsidise while we address supply issues. But then, I'm not sitting in a cushy office in parliament.
  4. Big vote winner right there. Definitely going to swing the red wall now. Meanwhile, unreported:
  5. And that’s fine. You do you. But the world is changing, EVs are here to stay (yes, cheap ones and mid range and expensive ones), man made climate change is real, and we can only hope to heck that somehow we can keep warming to below 1.5C because it will really suck for every living creature otherwise.
  6. It’s an S curve, same as most tech. Without googling tell me how much you think the cheapest new EV in UK is.
  7. I can remember when big flat screen TVs cost thousands. They’re cheap now though.
  8. Dodgem - like not answering questions! So...you haven't driven an EV but just irrationally hate them and spend time here trying to convince other people to stick with outdated ICE vehicles, and that climate change isn't a big problem at all, that we can simply build some nuclear power because it's nice and easy and clean? https://oilmanmagazine.com/
  9. Watch out tinfoil storage next! All orchestrated by umm Kazakhstan? You’re assuming I have mates But seriously, it’s Shell isn’t it. Is it? Or perhaps it’s just petroleum adjacent. Plastics? Gazprom? Personal assistant to a Saudi Royal? Go on, you can tell us. It’s OK to have vested interests on here. I’m an evil landlord, after all.
  10. I think it’s time you told us which oil company you work for.
  11. I’m wondering why this would happen to one small crowded country and not another small crowded country.
  12. Can someone post the photos of petrol queues in Brussels please? I can’t seem to find any.
  13. No it won’t I’m curious, what EVs have you driven and what didn’t you like about them?

  15. Looking at Whistable, it seems as if some of the holiday home sheen has worn off. Multiple drops from the kitefliers. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/107750690#/?channel=RES_BUY https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/86484259#/?channel=RES_BUY
  16. My answer to the original title question, without reading the full thread: When you’re born fleeced and grow up fleeced, surrounded by peers who are fleeced and media telling you to get fleeced…how are you going to notice what’s happened?
