  1. You know, if we just helped women in developing countries to have control over their education and contraception there might not be millions of destitute people clamouring to enter our borders. This is what happens when you allow 12 year old girls to get married off and give birth 10 times.
  2. There is the soft method I've seen the palliative nurses administer - as in, they provide the choice - of morphine, increasing in strength as needed. It's just a deep sleep until the breaths slow, and stop. There is dignity in it.
  3. I’d estimate that 90% of stock coming on in my area is selling within 2 weeks or less. The rest is the ugly stuff or kite flying. There’s been no difference from March to now. This includes flats.
  4. Suicide still treated as a crime in at least 20 countries, report finds One in every 100 deaths is a suicide: campaigners say criminalisation deters people seeking the help they need https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2021/sep/09/suicide-still-treated-as-a-in-at-least-20-countries-report-finds
  5. Sounds a bit like a MLM? https://itsblockchain.com/pi-network-scam-or-legit/
  6. Fairly sure the Belgium model requires multistep approval and declaration of capacity, which would mean dementia isn't covered?
  7. The Belgium model is interesting in that it allows for psychological pain as well.
  8. I think it's a conversation that will gain traction in the future.

  10. We have an aging population, creaking infrastructure, and rising care home figures. Should people have a choice about how they die? Would you choose euthanasia if faced with years of mental deterioration and/or physical pain? I suspect this question will be asked more often in the years ahead.
  11. Not sure. I don't think the government limits consultations, gut feeling is it's more likely to have a minimum and once it's hit they can start to rake in the big private money. Anyone know a NHS consultant to ask?
  12. Plus owning property is opening discussed by ordinary people. Whereas share portfolios are not. The stock market feels more like gambling, housing genuinely feels safe to the vast majority of people. And it is safe! The UK govt will protect housing until the end, they will choose property owners over every other citizen.
  13. Ah I’m not on facebook. Landlordzone is the only one I know. I do think most people see owning properties as the single safest method to wealth.
  14. Xi Jinping, China’s president, has targeted “unsustainable” economic growth in recent months, along with his drive against the country’s increasingly powerful tech billionaires. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/sep/09/china-property-market-evergrande-300bn-debt-share-slump
  15. YT algorithm now directs away from multiple topic channels, prefers 'clean' channels that stay on one topic. He needs to split channels and link back for sub boosts.
  16. This makes sense. Everyone rises to the exact level of their own incompetence, hence scandal after scandal of MRSA, infant/mothers dying or being injured, forgotten geriatric wards, persecuted whistleblowers. Add to that the natural god-delusion psychology of many doctors and it's a wonder it runs at all. I love the NHS because I don't want to pay stupid money and receive the same or worse level care. Which, let's face it is what our corrupt govt will arrange.
  17. I love the optimism! The reality is eat, drink, be merry, get dementia or a chronic illness in your 70s, slowly descend into a miserable decrepitude while being kept alive thanks to statins and life prolonging drugs while an economic migrant visits 3 times a day to boil your gruel and wipe your bum.
  18. There are dozens of policies available. Best use a broker.
