Report The £705,000 'affordable' Home in House prices and the economy Posted June 24, 2012 I dont know what all the fuss is about. Most Key workers in London City are earning around the 750k mark, often with an annual bonus of at least a couple of million in some cases. Only recently I had a few drinks with some key workers and they were all concerned as to house prices in London. As they said, working in a bank is now not just a job, but a responsibility to society, hence the reason they are added to the list of key workers, and in fact they are now the first emergency service which is why taxpayers money has been used to ensure they remain stable, profitable, and more importantly able to pay the wages of the board and executive staff. Imagine this scenario. You have been knocked over in the street and have only minutes to live. The most important person in your life is not a Doctor, but a banker as you need to make financial arrangements before you croak.
