If it is, I hope its delayed release because we can really do without Sunak as PM.

When it was pointed out that she had written a book that stated "the British are amongst the worst idlers in the world" she was quick to point out "that chapter was written by Dominic Raab who is backing rishi Sunak" She could have just stated that it wasn't her that wrote it and left it there instead of having a cheap shot or should that be another cheap shot .

I feel it would be much better if dissatisfied employees found a better job, with a more respectful employer, resigned and started a new chapter in their careers.

Sometimes that isn't possible , striking is the last course of action taken when management refuse to treat workers fairly . Many business will pay their workers the least amount of money and give the worst conditions to increase profit . The "if you don't like it here leave" response is typical of abusive management

I don't, for example, believe the the ECHR issue is necessarily intended to reduce freedom of expression, the right to strike or peacefully protest.

This Govt has already brought in legislation or is intending to for that very purpose. Both Truss and Sunak want to outlaw the right to strike for essential services

It is difficult to view the energy retailers as something other than a branch of government

Mussolini defined fascism as the merger of State and Corporate power. The UK Govt is more concerned about protecting the profits of the Corporations than protecting the people from being exploited by them. The move to remove the UK from the ECHR is to ensure that peoples rights to freedom of expression , the right to strike, the right to peaceful protest is removed and the fire and re-hire abuses are escalated. The rhetoric they are using is extremely threatening, they have no respect for peoples rights or freedoms , they are out of control and our legal system is not holding them to account. We don't live in interesting times , we live in dangerous times.

    So the labour playbook then?

Makes sense. This tory government isn't going to do what they did in the 90s again and leave the country in an amazing condition for labour to come in and take credit for. And then labour leave them a shitshow in 2010 anyway

It's now a finger pointing exercise and a blame culture . The only state asset left to steal is the nhs and when that goes they will be selling the Queens subjects into servitude .

  5. The Tories are implementing a scorched earth policy , they are currently looting the nations coffers and voting in a complete half wit to ensure they lose the next election as they don't want to be in charge when the resulting fallout from all their skullduggery hits the fan . Agent Starmer will point fingers while continuing to sell out to his Globalist Masters. Their loot will be stashed in the Cayman Islands and BVI and thanks to Brexit the EU will not be able to implement their plans to crack down on tax havens . When the people finally wake up and realise this was the real reason for leaving the EU and not to stop immigrants it will be too late.

What's worse, the liar or the folks that believe and spout his lies at anyone with open eyes to challenge him?

Some people could see it coming

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

“In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”

“Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. ”

“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. "

The prime minister is fighting to save his seat by arguing for a lenient punishment

They need to nail the coffin shut , there can be no re-writing of history , no get out of jail free card not just to ensure he cannot return but to ensure that future PMs and politicians will be held accountable for their behaviour. He has single handedly destroyed any credibility in the system and if the system is to regain any credibility he needs to be made an example of.

if these "established" "Russia links" are really "established" and illegal, he should be charged with the crime in a court of law.

How many times has the Tories and Banks been found to have acted unlawfully yet have escaped any charges in a court of law that you and I would have faced . The legal system is 2 tier in the UK and I have no doubt the same applies in most other countries including the U.S.  Maxwell was imprisoned for trafficking children for sexual exploitation , they know the client list , they most likely have the video footage from the island yet not a single one has been charged.

    It desperately needs proportional representation.

It's a step in the right direction but it needs more , we need accountability and when required the law to be enforced without fear or favour . Unfortunately the law in the UK is equally corrupted , is there a Police force anywhere who are to be trusted? The Met , Sth Yorkshire , PSNI are amongst the worst . Mussolini described fascism as the merger between State and Corporate power and the Govt and Corporate powers in the UK are joined at the hip .

    Let's face it.

The bankers are in control and this wont change, so collapse will come.

They just wont change, or they just cant change.

Politics is a Punch and Judy show , the Globalists have most of them by the balls and Democracy is now an illusion . Our current Govt are openly corrupt , lie incessantly and act unlawfully on a regular basis but are never held to account. When it becomes too embarrassing and obvious they just remove the chief clownshoe and replace them with another muppet. They have siphoned off tens of billions , the rivers and beaches are full of excrement , polio is back, energy prices through the roof , they want to remove peoples human rights, use fire and rehire , ban the right to protest , ban the right to strike , replace wage rises with rounds of applause, sell off the nhs and generally sh*t on anyone earning less than 80k a year. This isn't Conservatism this is fascism , it's not raining , they are pissing all over you.

  11. I was listening to the American Forces Network radio station earlier today and they declared the good news that core inflation is down to 5.4% when , and this is the bit that had me shaking my head , you discounted food and energy costs. Try not using any food or energy for a month and see how you get on !!! I think the phrase is "putting lipstick on a pig"

  12. If they cut the standing charges and made the first X amount of power (enough to provide the basics) at a lower rate then nobody need suffer , they can then increase the charge for usage above that amount so those who use the most pay accordingly . Only those who need to heat their indoor swimming pools and their horse stables would object. This can then be extended to water charges and other utilities where appropriate . Govts should be judged on how they treat the poorest in society not the richest and on that criteria this Conservative Govt have failed miserably.

  13. Enoch Powell's warnings of rivers of blood was wrong , we have rivers of excrement instead, the highest rail fares in Europe , the highest energy bills, highest further education costs and the worst pensions. I haven't checked the cost of posting a letter but it's probably more expensive than anywhere else as well. These politicians have no idea how to run a country for the benefit of the people who live there all they know is how to steal assets flog them off cheap to their cabal and live off the profit . There will be blood on the streets but it won't be because of immigration it will be the result of a return to poverty and rickets among the masses. The UK needs a Ceaușescu type reckoning

The bins and rubbish those churn out in the summer months are probably ten times what most families produce. Bin workers must HATE em.

Here in Belgium we pay an annual collection fee of around €120 pa but we have to buy our bags separately which cost in my commune €1 per bag for general waste and 20c for recyclable items . This encourages people to recycle and those who create more waste pay more.

So if we do get a big recession next year you have to treat that as still part of the 2007/08 recession/depression.

We put a sticking plaster on that crash , maxed out the credit card and cut rates to zero so we could make the payments. You are correct that the next crash is due at least in part to not fixing the last crash. Last time we were according to Alistair Darling "2 hrs away from total global collapse"  This time we have more debt, less gold , restrictive trading conditions , an inability to make any meaningful cuts in interest rates and the most incompetent and corrupt Govt in living memory.
