  1. It's really not difficult to understand - it's just supply and demand. We have incredibly low interest rates and more people trying to buy good quality houses than there are available. The interesting thing for me is that rather than expect the facts, the OP turns to conspiracy theories.
  2. Some of these low to mid end new build estates could be the modern equivalent of big council blocks of the 60s, a seemingly good idea at the first which turn into ghettos over time. I genuinely believe that.
  3. I think you're right in that interest rates are key to the equation, the issue HPC veterans have had and continue to have is that they could easily remain this low for another decade or more.
  4. Government props for the economy and the housing market should be taken as a given by this point. To make a prediction without taking government intervention into account is incredibly naive.
  5. it went to best and final in the end, 5 offers ranged from 400 to 380. We ended up picking the couple with a big deposit and no place to sell, which wasn't the highest offer, was mid table. We could of waited longer and probably held out for 405 I reckon, but we would of lost the house we wanted. I have no regrets as we made a tidy amount on it since we bought it and was able to buy the house we really wanted as the sale progressed relatively quickly.
  6. Try telling that to an estate agent whilst trying to book a viewing before you're sold stc...
  7. We can't "surmise" much if anything from this graph as you've not given any context to it. Number of listings of what? where is the data from? What we know for certain is this - you "called" the top of the market months ago, and as usual you got it all wrong.
  8. We could have sold for more but needed a quick sale for our onward purchase.
  9. Why would "idiots in the middle" be propping up anything?
  10. funny how all of you declaring a crash a few months back have now gone quiet. 🤐 🤫 😆
  11. Just thought I'd bump this again, seeing as we're still not seeing any evidence of these mortgage rate rises or the impended crash you guys said we'd be in by now
  12. lol at this picture. They can't even be bothered to market the place professionally, I can only imagine the quality of the build itself.
  13. Awful, incredibly cramped. The living room has both a toilet and a washing machine in it. I feel sorry for anyone buying this, I suspect they may end up renting them out and be purchased as a BTL.
  14. I recently moved to a rural area which is served by gigaclear using fiber to the house. The latency and bandwidth available is insane, really impressed. I don't think BT's planned new fibre to the premises is a match as it's a spliced connection.
  15. I would end up paying an extra 1200 a year, I could afford it but it would be quite a hit each month. People with “expensive” houses in the south east aren’t millionaires necessarily.
  16. 2% uptick overall i reckon, as the economy bounces back into life once most people are inoculated. Still no signs of this mythical crash.
  17. Same here. Due to complete tomorrow in fact. I'm just happy to be buying somewhere and getting on with the rest of my life.
  18. True. OR we could see the inverse if sterling improves, we shall see.
  19. Wrong, i'm affraid He said the following: “Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” he added. “Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!”" The evidence is clear, it's quite stright forward, yet you seem wilfully ignorant to it, why is that? My guess is that you know full well what type of man he is, but you choose to support him anyway due to some skewed ideology which is your way of sticking it to the man, disrupting the status quo. Either way, you're backing the wrong horse im affraid.
  20. Funny how the trump apologists ask for "hard evidence" and then once presented with it chose to ignore it, change the subject.
  21. Presume you mean main stream media? What do you read about him then? Where do you get your information from?
